Finn ~ 26 weeks

IMG_20130914_085557_496Another week down – and a busy one at that! Seems as though amid all of the busy days we didn’t take too many photos this week. And looking back through all of them it was such a tiring week that many of the shots are of a sleeping baby!

My sister took some great family photos for us while on vacation in Ocean Isle back in August. She came up with the idea to do a nice grouping of canvas prints and she sent us a sample of what she thought might look neat. We both thought it looked awesome, so we ordered the canvas prints and Kevin hung them this week in the front living room. IMG_20130907_174643_028

Kevin has been working crazy hours (like through the night)  getting home in the wee hours of the morning, around 3 or 4 am! Or he will come home late in the evening only to go back in to work through the night.  October 1 is rapidly approaching and he has a lot on his plate before that day arrives!IMG_20130914_085136_591 IMG_20130914_085338_190

On Wednesday Kevin was working late, and the timing worked out that I was able to meet my parents for a brief dinner while they were on their return trip home from vacation with their friends.

Our sitter, Tricia, came down with strep this week so I stayed home on Thursday and thankfully, Kevin’s parents were able to come stay with us Thursday evening. They played with Finn throughout the day on Friday.  He was a happy baby and got in lots of good play time with Grandma and Grandpa. He even took about a 4 hour afternoon nap for them – yay Finn!   We use an app on our phones that logs naps, diapers, and feedings. Since they didn’t have the app they texted me periodic updates throughout the day Friday.  Of course he was in good hands, but I still love to be able to know how well he sleeps and such while I’m gone.

They were both a tremendous help, as we had volunteered to host our small group that night for our gathering – which included dinner! So while Kevin and I were at work they graciously started the dinner we had planned. Such awesome help. DSC_0015 DSC_0017

We got the carpet in the entire house cleaned on Saturday (everything other than Finn’s room which is brand new). It had been awhile, and I had forgotten how much work it is to get the place clutter free (the carpets anyhow!) in order to get the carpets cleaned. That was a large undertaking and the house is still stockpiled with stuff on all the hard-surface floors as well as barricades to keep the dogs off the damp carpet.  But it is quite nice to have clean carpet despite the disorganization!!DSC_0005 DSC_0002 DSC_0004 DSC_0006 DSC_0019 DSC_0007

I got some early morning Saturday cuddles with Finn before he went down for his 3 hour nap. Worked out great – I was able to get the house in order for the carpet cleaners to arrive and then he slept the entire time they were here, waking up just as they were leaving.

Saturday afternoon once Kevin got home from work we headed to the Ackerman’s for the OSU game. It was pretty much a blow out, which allowed Finn to get in some good play time with the Howard’s and Ackerman’s and then he and daddy got in brief naps….yes Kevin slept on the floor!

Time for rice cereal!

Griffin has been becoming more interested in what we are eating these days so we decided we would give rice cereal a go!  Here he is for the first time – he loves it!  And he’s not too shabby with the spoon either! These photos are from August 27th, took me a little bit of time to get them from work! He is 23 1/2 weeks!

Finn ~ 25 weeks

We’ve had quite a week around here!

The weekend began with a visit from Kevin’s parents on Saturday. They came to visit and to go the Crew game with us as a part of Father’s day. So, here Finn took in his first soccer game!IMG_20130831_215642_759

On Sunday we had a nice dinner on the patio at Milestone 229, along the Scioto Mile. It is a nice stretch along the river in downtown Columbus that has really been revitalized in the last couple of years. There is a fun splash park that you can see and be a part of from the patio. It is open to the public and it is always full of kiddos on these warm days. DSC_0131

After dinner we strolled along the river and around the downtown area where Kevin works. It was a pleasant evening for a walk.

Monday brought on a big milestone – Finn is on the move! He started scooting on our bed, doing an “army” crawl of sorts using his arms to pull himself forward. He doesn’t move constantly, but he can definitely get around!! Check out the video.

On Monday, yet another first for Finn, we went to the last home game of the season for the Columbus Clippers.  It was a beautiful afternoon and we were lucky to have seats in the shade. He was quite pleasant for most of the game, and ended up taking about a half hour nap toward the end. He woke up just in time to run the bases with daddy, a tradition that the park does at the end of the season for kids and families.

Here Finn runs the bases with daddy, and touches every base then slides into home…

Friday was the annual Open House at Millcreek. We invite all of our customers to visit and tour the nursery and facilities and we cater a nice lunch for everyone. Kevin was able to make it with Finn early in the afternoon and he was adored by all…co workers as well as friends and customers. I had a blast showing him off to everyone and he was full of smiles and cuddles for everyone. 🙂DSC_0208DSC_0210DSC_0194DSC_0231

The dogs are loving life. Bear is doing really well right now, getting along just fine moving up and down the stairs at her regular slow pace but moving nonetheless.  I captured her enjoying the yard on Saturday morning. She is so funny – as soon as she sees you anymore she stands up, so I shot these from inside the porch where she wouldn’t spot me. Then I went out on the patio and got some of the girls. DSC_0238

It is so fun to go in to get Finn in the morning once he is awake. He’s such a happy guy, he wakes up and talks and babbles and sings for a bit.  Once he spots you he’s super excited, full of smiles, and starts kicking the mattress with excitement. And the last photo of him standing was totally staged….but super cute. DSC_0266

This is a newer pose, he often turns on one hip and sprawls his leg out to the side.

We geared him up this weekend in both OU Bobcat attire and OSU Buckeyes gear.  Let the games begin!

Check out the video of Lily and Finn getting in some cuddle time.

The girls love to spend time in Finn’s room and be a part of any and all activities. Here they got their ball stuck under his bed.

Here you can tell he is getting ready to propel himself forward!DSC_0416

DSC_0409And one last snuggle shot – daddy got in a power nap with Finn on Saturday. He wasn’t too interested in going down for his nap, so his daddy rocked him to sleep 🙂DSC_0402
