Finn ~ 32 weeks

Things are just moving right along here! Seems as though winter isn’t all that far away, as we awoke to snow on Wednesday morning!DSC_0777 DSC_0779 DSC_0780 DSC_0782Griffin just loves to stand, so much so that he moves along kind of combination army crawl and knee crawl until he gets to the nearest object, and then he just pulls himself up.  Thursday afternoon I went in to get him when I heard him talking after his nap. Most of the time he is already standing in his crib by the time you get in there, but if he isn’t, as soon as he hears or sees you he makes his way to the edge of the crib and does this:DSC_0783 DSC_0784 DSC_0785 DSC_0788 DSC_0791 DSC_0799 DSC_0816 DSC_0821

We got Finn all suited up in his Astronaut costume and headed to the Spooktacular event at the Rec center in Dublin. We met up with Deven and Aarnov. It was a super cold night so we hung out indoors where Finn was able to pet turtles and check out the bug guy. We also ran into our friend Andy and two of his kids, Audrey and Ryan. DSC_0830 DSC_0832 DSC_0836 DSC_0844 DSC_0846 DSC_0840 DSC_0851 DSC_0854 DSC_0858 z DSC_0866 DSC_0875

On Friday night Kevin and I went to a fabulous Halloween party hosted by Laura & James. It was complete with a game of Clue and Family Feud.  Kevin found our costumes, Robinhood and Maid Marion, and he made our lovely pumpkin cheese balls! Thankfully Pat and Jim were able to come play with Griffin for the evening. He enjoyed all of the attention! DSC_0882 DSC_0883DSC_0877

On Saturday I met a few friends at the Zoo for “boo at the zoo”. The kiddos wear their costumes and trick or treat at various stations around the zoo. It was super windy and really cold, so Finn was cuddled up and quite cozy. He even fell asleep for awhile. DSC_0018 DSC_0001 DSC_0010 DSC_0005 DSC_0015 DSC_0022 DSC_0023

We ended the evening Saturday watching the Bethune’s. Here you can catch a glimpse of Griffin and Greta getting some together time. They had a bit of fun when they weren’t crying at one another! DSC_0030 DSC_0044 DSC_0067 DSC_0068

We had a pretty uneventful week until the weekend when we traveled to Dayton to celebrate at a couples shower in honor of Brett and Missy’s upcoming wedding! It was a nice afternoon capped off with a fine dinner with the family. Finn came along for the day and saw lots of family that he hasn’t seen for quite awhile.

On occasion I spot Kevin biting on a paper towel and I’ve noticed recently that Finn loves to bunch up the burp cloth or bath towel and shove it in his face. Here’s a perfect image of the two of them doing it at once – and this is a random shot, I did not stage this!!DSC_0684 DSC_0686 DSC_0688

Finn loves to hold his own bottle so much so that you can lay him down in the pack and play or his play pen and give him a bottle and he will feed himself! I still enjoy the cuddles and so does Kevin, but he does usually hold his own bottle the entire time. He will even take it out of his mouth several times and then put it back in when he’s ready for more. It’s really kind of fun to watch 🙂  For as long as I can remember he has always brushed his fingers on things – here is a perfect example of him doing it on his own lips:DSC_0634-001 DSC_0631-001 DSC_0630-001

He can move around doing a combination army crawl and real crawl with his belly off the floor and moving his knees. However, he loves to stand so much that he usually only gets as far as the first object he sees and then he stops and stands up. We usually find him standing up in his crib at the end of a nap or in the morning – or at the very least on his knees. He is actually getting really good at moving around his music table or twisting 180 degrees using his feet when he is standing between objects, like the couch and the ottoman. He’s gaining new skills each day! DSC_0629 DSC_0626-001 DSC_0664 DSC_0645-001 DSC_0669 DSC_0673 DSC_0677

The drive to work has been really pretty this last week with the sun shining on the trees along the river. I stopped one day to take a few photos. Here  are a few along with some nice groups of plants in several houses at Millcreek. Things are looking good for our spring 2014 crop – I’ve captured these as I’ve been trying to get some new images for our upcoming catalog and website makeover project!DSC_0539-001 DSC_0541-001 DSC_0540-001 DSC_0542-001 DSC_0544-001 DSC_0554-001 DSC_0557-002 DSC_0609-002 DSC_0613-002 DSC_0614-002

Have a great week!

7 months!

DSC_0630Today Griffin turned 7 months old! Look at our sweet little boy. His personality is growing with every day. He regularly pulls himself up to his feet, or his knees, and then gasps with an inward laugh. He is smiley, cuddly, curious, observant, and a wee bit stubborn at times! He no longer likes to lay very still while he is having his diaper changed or being dressed. And he doesn’t have a problem letting you know! We love you little man!
