DSC_0512Here they are, my boys, looking so cute together. I remember buying this airplane sleeper before Finn was born and these days he is quickly outgrowing it! This week passed in the blink of an eye. Most nights I arrived home pretty late, definitely after Finn was asleep. Saturday was a nice change of pace as we had a family day and stayed home the entire day hanging out and doing projects.

This week we’ve actually had some pleasant weather and Finn has gotten out and about with Debbie and Sam! They’ve enjoyed playing in the yard (picking the pretty flowers, ha!) and going on walks in the neighborhood. Here are some photos Debbie snapped of the boys having fun together, you can even see Sam feeding Finn a snack!photo-3-2 photo-4-2 photo-5-2 photo-6-2

When I arrived home Thursday evening, Kevin showed me a surprise project he was working on – overhauling our laundry room and basement bathroom!  I knew he had plans to re-do the basement bathroom, but the laundry room was a complete surprise! Unfortunately, I don’t have any before pics of either room (I know, we will all miss the blue cow wall paper from the Laundry room) but I did snap some in progress pics of the laundry room. Kevin is so talented I’m convinced he can tackle any project and he thoroughly thinks them through before he starts. He has just great ideas and just pulls the the trigger, which is a good thing, as we have no shortage of those around here! DSC_0482 DSC_0484 DSC_0480 DSC_0488

Saturday we were sitting around enjoying the Saturday morning and I decided to clean off the tables on the porch. Now that the weather has broken it is nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather, and Debbie also likes to spend time with Finn and Sam there too. It just had that dirty winter feeling so I figured I would at least windex the tables. Then Kevin said, “why don’t I just pressure wash it?”.  Who am I to say no to that? So off he went and we now have a sparkling porch. Finn was mesmerized and watched him for a long while. Cameron and Lily on the other hand weren’t so fond of the noise!DSC_0461 DSC_0470 DSC_0477And we ended Saturday night with some yummy pizza and family night. We are both doing well on our Vi-shakes, but we love to indulge every now and then, and Jets Pizza is our current favorite. DSC_0458 DSC_0521 DSC_0499 DSC_0490And on Saturday, I was even able to spend an hour in our front foundation garden doing a bit of clean up, so I ended by picking some flowers for our first spring bouquet fresh from our own yard! It looks pretty large, but it is actually in a mini bud vase!IMG_20140426_181100297-2

DSC_0124What a fun weekend of fun and family, celebrating Easter and the Resurrection of Christ!

The week was rather a blur leading up to the weekend for me, as spring is in full swing at Millcreek. Most evenings I arrived home between 9:30 and 10 pm. I think the next couple of weeks will be much of the same as it looks as though the warmer temperatures are finally here to stay. Kevin did take Finn to the doctor on Monday for his ear re-check and we are happy to report his ear infection has finally cleared up, super yay!

Finn still loves trying to mimic any word you say, this week he seemed to say thank you and “wa wa” for his sippy cup of water. This week he also mastered using the straw sippy cup, yay! He can drink out of it like a champ, and can also suck the yogurt out of the yogurt pouches too (though he also squeezes it all over if you aren’t careful!).

Friday Finn and Kevin enjoyed a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong. They had a fun day of play together on Friday while Kevin was helping the Ackerman’s lay a new hardwood floor. They spent the night with us as well, which meant I got to see them too, and Kevin and I enjoyed a nice date night for dinner out Friday evening and they stayed home with Finn after we put him to bed! Saturday afternoon we headed to Mansfield to celebrate Easter a day early with my family. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a fun easter egg hunt. Finn basically found his first egg and then just wanted to eat it! He was so tired on our way there, but didn’t fall asleep until we were about 5 minutes from arriving which resulted in a twenty five minute nap. We also checked out mom and dad’s newly renovated first floor bathroom and laundry room, which is awesome! And you’ll see a photo below of many stained glass lamps dad has made. There’s never a dull moment. By the end of the evening he was pretty loopy, babbling like crazy, dumping baskets of easter eggs everywhere, and falling all over the place as he tried to walk. We thought he would fall asleep before we reached the highway, however, he didn’t fall asleep the entire way home! Silly boy.

I wanted to take a family photo, so we all headed out to the deck to give it a shot. It started pretty well, but then both Lily and Cameron decided they wanted to be a part of the action. We were all laughing so hard as the dogs inched their way into the photos (and it wasn’t really their flattering side) as they thought they were being cute and that our laughing meant we wanted to give them attention).  So here you can see real life in action 😉DSC_0062 DSC_0064 DSC_0067 DSC_0074 DSC_0075

Sunday was a long day as we served in the church nursery for the early service at 9 am and then attended the 11 am service. We did sneak in some photos of the Bethune’s and ourselves and attempted some of the cousins 🙂DSC_0121 DSC_0088 DSC_0101 DSC_0131 DSC_0148 DSC_0167

Afterward we headed to celebrate Easter with Kevin’s family outside of Enon at Cookie & Steve’s. It was a beautiful afternoon full of sunshine. It was so nice to sit outside, spend time with family, and enjoy the warm rays while eating yet again! Finn loved roaming around the yard and going where all the “big kids” were, on the swing set, and wandering over to see the neighbors dogs. DSC_0186 DSC_0212 DSC_0199 DSC_0188 DSC_0192 DSC_0198 DSC_0228 DSC_0230 DSC_0234 DSC_0237 DSC_0261 DSC_0256 DSC_0252 DSC_0253

And finally, when we got home, we gave Finn his Easter Basket and let him play with it for a few minutes before it was bath time and bed time! His favorite part was the big red ball and carrying around and opening up the easter eggs!DSC_0269 DSC_0274 DSC_0276

DSC_1047It was finally a bit warmer this week and I got home at a good hour a couple of nights! Wednesday we went out for pizza and then played at the indoor play space. Finn went down the big slide with daddy and then later on his own. He thought it was pretty cool! The next night we headed for a walk in the neighborhood – here Finn is enjoying his first ride in his Radio Flyer wagon 🙂 Luckily I got home just before dark set in on Thursday so we were able to enjoy the outdoors for a brief ride. Finn was so happy! If we stopped the wagon he would start jiggling, as if he was telling us to keep moving! It was fun to venture outside of these four walls.IMG_20140409_202328963 IMG_20140409_202129716DSC_1031 DSC_1032 DSC_1035 DSC_1041 DSC_1042 DSC_1043 DSC_1049 Thankfully Finn’s appetite has returned. His ear infection seems to be gone, and he has his re-check on Monday. We’ve learned to not stretch things too far and feed him to close to when he’s tired as then he loves to just slide his food all around and then off his tray onto the floor.  Ugh! DSC_1076 DSC_1065Saturday was an action packed day for us! We woke up and headed to downtown Powell for the Community Easter Egg hunt. The lawn was covered in eggs and the areas were broken up into age groups.  It was fun to watch Finn and the other young kids pickup eggs. Finn was pretty interested in eating the plastic egg once he picked it up! After the egg hunt we went to our local Powell branch of the Delaware County Library.  I can’t remember the last time i was in a library, and this one is literally less than 5 minutes from our house! So we signed up for a library card and checked out our first book “Tickle”. It was a nice morning so we walked to the park, adjacent to the library, and played for a few minutes before heading home to nap!DSC_1106 DSC_1110 DSC_1117 DSC_1121 DSC_1128 DSC_1148 DSC_1151 DSC_1155 DSC_1156 DSC_1157 DSC_1160 DSC_1165 DSC_1170 DSC_1171 DSC_1173 DSC_1175 DSC_1179 DSC_1184 DSC_1191 DSC_1194 DSC_1222 DSC_1228 DSC_1239 DSC_1244 DSC_1248 DSC_1250 DSC_1256 DSC_1265 DSC_1266 DSC_1273 DSC_1281After nap time – it was party time for cousin Greta’s first birthday! We spent a nice afternoon enjoying lots of yummy food, cake, and a house full of kiddos. Finn was so tired at one point I tried to put him down in Greta’s room, which didn’t go over very well, so I moved him to the boys’ room which is much darker.  He was still pretty upset (I think because he wasn’t familiar with his surroundings and he was overtired) so Kevin went up to settle him down and the boys ended up taking a little siesta together for a little bit. Ha! It was a good powernap for both 🙂  Finn enjoyed playing with his cousins and going up the stairs many times. Happy birthday, Greta!IMG_20140412_142633613DSC_1307 DSC_1316 DSC_1343 DSC_1301 DSC_1289 DSC_1290 DSC_1284 DSC_1319 DSC_1321 DSC_1331 DSC_1294 DSC_1350 DSC_1351 DSC_1352
