Finn is seeming more and more adventurous when we are out and about or in larger group situations. This week he wanted to walk down the stairs by himself while we were watching the Clippers play at Huntington Park. He’s really cute about it as he regularly turns around to see how far away he is and he will usually say a thing or two. But he ends up going a bit further each time. This game he had a pretzel as his “special treat” and he devoured that thing!
We stopped after swim lessons to watch some loaders, dump trucks, and bull dozers up close and personal. Finn thought it was great and loved just watching the construction workers operate the machinery. One of them even waved to Griffin, which he thought was so neat.
Finn also helped me pick a bunch of things this week from the garden. We had a nice variety of Kaleidoscope carrots (long and colorful) and Short & Sweet carrots (the stubby orange ones) along with a handful of onions and tomatoes. They are so pretty and colorful but I’ve yet to make anything with them. I’m thinking I’ll make a beef stew 🙂 We have been regularly eating the cucumbers we’ve harvested each week.

Well, having returned from vacation we’ve been trying to get back into our regular routine at home. We’ve had a pretty uneventful week up until the weekend which was full of adventure and fun! First up, as you can see above, a trip up to Mansfield where Kevin helped dad go pick up a 1953 MG TD that he is going to restore – his next hobby! They made the trip to the Akron area Friday evening and returned just before dusk where we were able to take a quick peak before they covered it up for the night. Finn loved checking it out and dad is pretty stoked to begin this new project!
Then it was Leaning Tower pizza and sub for dinner!
Here are some photos in the daylight on Saturday morning before they headed off to drop the car off at the shop that will be helping dad with the restoration.
I look forward to seeing these two tool around town in this car once it’s all up and running!
And on Saturday we all headed back to Columbus to celebrate cousin Rowan’s 4th birthday part at the Fire Station #93 in Dublin. The part was complete with a tour of the entire fire station, the kids were able to sit in the medic ambulance, the fire trucks, spray water out of the fire hose, and as a special treat Rowan, Greta, Graham, and Griffin were able to ride around the parking lot in the actual fire truck! What a fun party!

Finn had some fun with his feet making these painted shapes. He’s really mastered his shapes and can name each of these when you hold them up!
He made a super cool rocket ship at COSI and we went to a kids Lollipop concert in Powell on a really nice morning.
Finn was also really happy that his buddy Sammy was back starting this week! They had some fun adventures, including one downtown to the Fountains and the Fountainside kids event complete with a picnic lunch.
And now…..we’re off on vacation, yay!
