IMG_4385This being the week of Valentine’s Day we had a lot of crafts and fun throughout the week. We ended the week with lounging Saturday morning during which Daddy surprised us with some tasty pancakes complete with chocolate sauce and strawberries! A pre-Valentines Day treat. IMG_4387 IMG_4389 IMG_4390

During the week we finished Finn’s Valentine’s Day cards for his classmates. Since he is in the Guppy class we decided to make little fishy cards and put a heart-shaped Jolly Rancher sucker on each one. IMG_4270 IMG_4277

He also made heart-shaped sugar cookies and decorated them with Debbie.  They were really tasty and cute! IMG_4287 IMG_4295 IMG_4296Even though it was really cold on trash night, Griffin insisted that he help Kevin take the trash out. So he got all bundled up (even though he was in his jammies) and out they went. IMG_4290And Griffin got a Valentine’s Day card from Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein – all the way from Florida, Elmo delivered a hug!IMG_4351 IMG_4353 IMG_4354 IMG_4356

This week I was able to Attend Griffin’s Valentine’s Day party at preschool. They had a plateful of treats and sang songs for the parents who came.  We also filled each of his classmates bags with the Guppy Valentine’s day cards that we made at home.  It was a fun day and Griffin had the happiest smile on his face when he realized I was at his class – I surprised him and hadn’t told him in advance that I would be at his party. When Amy arrived with Graham, Graham gave me a sweet red Carnation that he brought for me from his class.  It was such a nice gesture!IMG_4298 IMG_4303 IMG_4305 IMG_4325Lots of learning of shapes, sides, numbers, and about Humpty Dumpty lately! And family movie night in the basement, complete with popcorn and movie theater candy. IMG_4360 IMG_4364 IMG_4368

And Kevin and I made it out for date night on Valentine’s Day. We had drinks and a nice dinner at Cap City in Grandview. We had yummy dinners and a sweet pink cake for dessert! IMG_4403 IMG_4402And here is the latest stage of the new greenhouses at Millcreek.  One of the slowest building processes ever due to the wacky winter weather this year.  It’s either frozen or wet and swampy!IMG_4284

IMG_20160202_192642816This week was our last swim lesson at Goldfish. We’ve been having a lot of fun at lessons and Griffin has certainly learned a lot. He has such strength in his arms and legs and just loves climbing out of the pool only to do the “Alligator Alligator on the wall, Alligator Alligator watch me fall” activity. Kevin came along with us for our last class and was able to get some cute photos, including one with his teacher, Miss Paige.  He just loved her!

Kevin’s Google account put together a cute video of several of the pictures:

Griffin has had fun this week with Debbie, making a box for his Valentine cards. He painted the box and got to decorate it too. Then later in the week Finn, Kevin, and I cut out the parts needed to make his Valentine cards for his Guppy classmates at preschool. Griffin got a lot of practice using his scissors – you can see a short video below. IMG_4233 IMG_4235 IMG_4236 IMG_4237IMG_4251 IMG_4253 IMG_4256

And later that afternoon we enjoyed a short visit with Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong!

IMG_4257 IMG_4259We watched the Superbowl with our Small Group and this year we incorporated a service project into the evening. All of our families brought food items that were used to make snack bags for families that are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their children are receiving care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Our group made over 120 bags and the kids enjoyed grabbing a bag and putting snacks in it for others to enjoy later.IMG_4266 IMG_4263 IMG_4335Check out our cute little Dr. Armstrong!IMG_4249

IMG_4168Just a few fun and silly photos from this week. This week after swim lessons Finn was treated to a sucker from the quarter candy jars.  The free take home prize for the week was a fun little patch which he thought was really cool! IMG_4166In general, Griffin is a really good eater. He regularly eats whatever we make for ourselves for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In fact, if we make something different he will ask why he doesn’t have something (like beets on my salad) and I’ll ask if he would like some. Usually his answer is yes, he wants to try it (even the beets, which he actually does like!). We regularly include fruit with his meals and one of his favorites is raspberries, which he calls finger puppets.  Now you understand why: IMG_4172I went out with some friends for our monthly meet up. This gathering we went bowling! I can’t even recall the last time I went bowling (other than in college). I had a fun night, but I didn’t set any records.  Ha! We went to Star Lanes at Polaris which was really nice and clean. The restaurant inside made yummy food and there are tons of tvs to watch while bowling.  Kind of crazy! IMG_4156Finn and daddy have been having fun in the evenings building big towers. The one who wins seems to be the one who causes the tower to fall!IMG_4129 IMG_4131 IMG_4132 IMG_4133Here are few others from the week.  Some silly selfies and a couple of dessert with cousins at Graeters after we had dinner at City Barbeque with Amy, Andy, Graham, Rowan, and Greta!IMG_4163 IMG_4159 IMG_4174 IMG_4175
