photo(3)This little man is talking up a storm! Each night when we’ve gotten home from work this week Finn is the biggest chatter box. He is talking in such long sentences. Most of it is understandable and the way in which he applies concepts and phrases continues to amaze us.  This weeks favorite was while we were driving in the car and Finn pulled a straw out of his water cup. He happened to flick some water on Kevin’s face and he followed that up with “sorry dada, didn’t mean to, accident, no big deal”.  We both giggled 🙂

It’s been mostly work for Kevin and I this week so we’ve hung around the homestead in the evenings. Finn, however, has had an adventuresome week with Debbie heading to the pet store, Franklin Park Conservatory, the Zoo, and the bookstore! We’re so fortunate to have Debbie in our family. She’s full of adventure and fun and every week she plans such fun things to do! Here are a few photos (including easter egg’s from last week that I forgot!). photo photo(6) photo(2) photo(1) photo(5) photo(4) Our fun this weekend was cousin Greta’s 2nd birthday party! It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the birthday girl had a good time, as did Finn playing with all the kiddos and grandma and grandpa. They each made a rain stick (to go with the rainbow theme) to take home. DSC_0317 DSC_0320 DSC_0324 DSC_0325 DSC_0331 DSC_0332 DSC_0336 DSC_0341 DSC_0342 DSC_0343 DSC_0346 DSC_0356 DSC_0348 DSC_0350We also enjoyed a nice dinner with the Howards this week. Amid their kitchen being torn apart they made dinner for us – what great friends! They have loaned Finn two life sized books that come with animals to play with. It was a late night, I think Finn went to bed about 10 pm, but when we got home all he wanted to do was play with the animals!IMG_20150408_222116096 For the first time I saw a complete double rainbow this week at work! It was SO pretty, these pictures don’t nearly capture it!IMG_20150409_195725974 IMG_20150409_195657342_HDRAnd our veggies are doing great.  Finn likes to look at them with me each night and help water. We practice the names of the veggies too – he’s really good at saying zucchini!DSC_0359 DSC_0360 DSC_0361

DSC_0047Here he is, our adventuresome 2 year old. While I was outside on Saturday conducting some “backyard cleanup” I asked Finn to either stay on the porch or sit in this chair. He kind of went back and forth between the two. I kept my eye on him from afar and while I was along the back fence I saw him pick up a stick and start poking at the planter you can see in the background. What I couldn’t see from afar was that he was actually digging in deep with his hands and spreading the soil from the planter all over the patio!  When I walked closer I discovered the big mess, but actually thought it was pretty funny.  I’m glad he’s not afraid to mess around in the dirt. He clearly enjoyed himself and being outside of the house though in this last photo he looks a bit guilty 🙂DSC_0048 DSC_0049It was a really calm week here. My mom and dad prepared a lovely lasagna dinner for Saturday night for a family gathering at our place with the Bethune’s. We celebrated Amy’s birthday and mine too with a lovely spring-inspired cake made by mom. And Sunday afternoon we spent some time at Easton starting with lunch at NorthStar followed by a bit of shopping and walking around to enjoy the sunshine. It was still a pretty brisk day.DSC_0050 DSC_0053 DSC_0054 DSC_0058 DSC_0060 DSC_0061

We even ran in the Easter bunny! Finn spent the next several minutes hopping through the mall!IMG_20150322_131345 IMG_20150322_135546377_HDR IMG_20150322_135804075

2 years old ~ 3/16/15!

DSC_0791Check out our happy, spunky, adventurous, smart, spirited, fun-loving 2-year-old! Finn is growing so fast. He is speaking in short sentences and each day we are amazed at the concepts he understands and the sheer number of words in his vocabulary.

Finn’s birthday fell on a Monday so I took the day off to have a fun day with him. Daddy was able to stay home part of the morning too and since it was the most beautiful day of the year thus far (70 and sunny!) we headed for an adventure at the zoo for a couple hours. DSC_0738 DSC_0742 DSC_0743 DSC_0749 DSC_0755 DSC_0777 DSC_0778 DSC_0781 DSC_0784 DSC_0797 DSC_0800 DSC_0805 DSC_0807 DSC_0809 DSC_0813 DSC_0816We celebrated with dinner out a restaurant where Finn chose his favorite, Cheeseburger and fries! Afterwards we headed home to indulge in jumbo chocolate monster cupcakes!DSC_0006DSC_0007DSC_0012DSC_0016DSC_0019DSC_0026DSC_0027DSC_0029IMG_20150316_203642956 IMG_20150316_203704271DSC_0031DSC_0032DSC_0033And right before bedtime we gave Finn his present – a balance bike! He had the hugest grin on his face and loved riding up and down the hall for a couple quick spins. He’s definitely a bit short to ride by himself for now, but he loves to go on spins in the house with mommy and daddy!DSC_0036 DSC_0043 DSC_0040

Finn is getting in four new teeth, both incisors on the top and bottom. He’s taking it like a champ, and is not really bothered other than the first day or two when he had a slight fever. Check them out!IMG_20150321_211418765And here is our growing boy who loves to type at the computer!DSC_0002
