Look at that fierce look of determination on Reid’s face! The boys were taking in some fresh air and getting some practice crawling in the early evening this week when I got home. It was so nice to be outside!

Griffin continues to love going to bed with Lily and he also is continuing to enjoy making forts for them to sleep in. I got extra pillows out of the closet this week and Finn immediately turned them in to an obstacle course in the hallway. 🙂 Here are a few shots from Debbie of the boys getting ice cream at Handel’s, Finn and Debbie playing swords, and a tidbit of what Reid had to eat – two whole sausages along with other things! This boy, I can hardly get him to eat this much for me, likely because we are on the go so much on the weekends. Sometimes I see these entries and I’m floored at the volume that he eats! We went on a family walk the other night for the first time in f-o-r-e-v-e-r and it was GREAT! Griffin loved it so much and I really enjoyed us all being together getting some fresh air. I wish this was something that we were able to do more but our current life phase and work schedules just don’t seem to allow for it very often.  Good old Brutus and Griffin – Brutes has a packet of pecans in his mouth and is giving his pathetic “please pay attention to me” look.  Reid has been up a couple nights during the night this week. He’s usually easily consolable but he definitely wants to be snuggled for a bit.  Saturday morning it was another Daddy and the boys adventure day with breakfast at Bob Evans and a trip to Aldi.  And here are a couple from Finn’s Sunday flag football game. he’s regularly the center and a couple times a game gets to run the ball. He’s getting much more confident in his running game once he’s handed the ball compared to the first part of the season. He’s so different playing in the driveway and with family or friends than playing on his team where he’s typically much more reserved.  I’m noticing a theme here – playing in the rain! Guess we should add that to our summer bucket list!

Morning snuggle time is the best way to start my day! It makes it hard to leave in the morning though for sure.  Reid continues to enjoy meal time and is learning to eat more and more new foods. He definitely seems to favor meat (sausage, beef, chicken) and sweet veggies (peas, corn, carrots). He’s hit or miss with fruits as some days he’ll eat them and others not. He does love pears for sure. Strawberries and blueberries sometimes, watermelon he kind of plays with, canteloupe he’ll usually eat. Raspberries are usually a negative. Just depends on his mood I suppose.  Debbie took the boys to Library Park and Franklin Park Conservatory this week and Finn loved seeing the butterflies. This was Reid’s first time there and it looks like he had fun too 🙂 In all honesty since I’m writing these post several weeks after the fact and Debbie is no longer our nanny, I have mixed emotions looking at these pictures. Happy that they had so much fun with her and she loved them well and sad that things ended the way the did. It could have been so much better.  These next two pictures Finn created at pre-school and I put them in here as a reminder to myself about the simple joys of being a kid and the ways they find happiness and fun in the littlest things. Man, I wish I were a kid again some days!  Mr. Reid becomes Mr. Sassy sometimes when he doesn’t have something he sees someone else does. He’s getting really good with the contigo cups so I’ve started giving him one when I give Griffin one. He loves it! We joined the Bethune’s, Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein, and other friends for Greta’s 5th birthday with a party at the rink. Finn hadn’t been on the ice in probably two years. He was definitely timid in the beginning but after a short bit he was off and skating on his own! Check out his hockey shirt that he chose for the day, a hand-me-down from his cousins 🙂

Reid really resembles Rowan a lot as a baby (is that enough R’s?). While we were at the Bethune’s we checked out a photo album from when Rowan was the same age as Reid (around 47 weeks). It’s crazy how much they look alike and how their hair is very similar too! Great photo of the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa! Griffin is often my errand buddy. The two of us head out on adventures and Reid stays home with Daddy sometimes. We headed to the Polaris area and decided to get Finn a lunch at the new Corner Bakery. He loved it and I loved the manager who was so friendly. He walked around and as he stopped to talked to us he invited us up for a free cookie after his meal. Of course Finn was happy about that 🙂 And here is another Saturday morning photo snapped by Daddy of the boys having a fun morning while I was away at work. Boxes make the best toys. On Sunday I met up with my college friends for brunch. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other and while we didn’t have a long time to hang it was good to see everyone and get updates on everyone’s lives! It’s been 20 years since we graduated from OU! Yikes!

Here is our Mr. Smiles! He is a happy boy almost all the time. He loves to nap and snuggle. I love to walk in the door after work and as soon as I pick him up he just smiles so big and lays his head down on my shoulder :).

The weather this spring has been interesting to say the least. We woke up on the 2nd of April to several inches of snow! Needless to say it’s made my work scheduled not quite as busy as “normal” (whatever that is anymore). I’ve enjoyed being able to be home at a more “normal” hour and hang with the kids in the evening.  It’s been snuggles all around lately with kids and dogs. Lils is snuggling on Brutus and Griffin is on him too. Though Brutus is one big boy he is really very gently and tolerant of anything the boys do to him.  I’ve been working on Saturday’s until 2 pm or so and I’ve been leaving before they get up. This Saturday Daddy treated the boys to lunch at Firehouse Subs while out running errands. Later that night we had another fun Progressive Dinner with our neighbors. It was “American” this time so Kevin grilled some fabulous filets to go with our mashed potatoes and green beans.  It was delish! The nights are always a lot of fun over the course of several hours and our three houses. This time we headed tot he Duncan’s for dessert as they weren’t able to join until later. We didn’t arrive at their house until nearly 9 pm! Kind of a crazy way to welcome them to our fun! Kevin got some snuggles from Reid and he was so happy to get them! Reid does this for me all the time and Kevin wants some snugs too, but he usually doesn’t do it. This night at our dessert I gave him to Kevin as I was so hot holding him and he instantly did his tuck tuck shoulder lay. It’s also been an interesting start to flag football season with the cold temperatures. Griffin is wearing his winter hat as the center in the photo below and then chasing after the ball carrier. It was freezing and windy! Griffin was given the sportsmanship medal this week 🙂
At work I’ve been working on the 2018 edition of the picking crews routes through the nursery. It’s an annual thing that is updated in our software system and then the pick tickets are printed according to the route throughout the nursery.

We are so proud of Griffin for memorizing bible verses at school this year. Check him out!
