photoBig Machines was a hit with Finn! Debbie took him down to COSI this week and they had their Big Machines exhibit going on where the kids can actually get up in the machines and play with them. He really loved it and he brought home his construction “hard” hat too. He also played in the painting/arts area inside and with some small diggers too.  I love seeing the updates on what adventures Finn goes on during the day via the photos Debbie puts in our app 🙂photo(4) photo(3) photo(2)

We went to our first Clipper’s game of the season to celebrate Father’s Day. It was a beautiful evening. And it was Dime-a-Dog Night too – a great combination. Finn ate two hot dogs amongst other things. We had lovely seats and we really had a nice time.

Finn continues to love his swim lessons. He gets so excited to get in the water. He’s doing really well with kicking and reaching for things and climbing out of the water.  There are resident fish and water turtles in a couple of tanks outside of the pool area and every week Finn likes to go and check them out 🙂IMG_20150627_103754364 IMG_20150627_111747503

We’ve spent a lot of time together with our family and friends over the last couple of weeks. Finn loves being able to see his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He gets so excited when people come to our house to “play”. We’re thankful for having family close-by. Finn loves the attention and affection from everyone, including Grandma Armstrong as you can see here! IMG_20150622_103209296_HDR

After Nathan’s Memorial Service on Sunday we had family and friends over to our house to spend time together and have some lunch. At the end of the day we decided to venture to Graeter’s for a sweet treat. Ice cream can brighten any day, right? At least for a little bit. Finn really loved his funny faced sundae with sprinkles and I really loved watching his face light up when he got it.  We’ve made a fair number of trips to Graeter’s so far this summer, I must admit.

In other fun adventures Finn began his swim lessons this week! He had so much fun splashing around in the water. It is a tropical environment with warm waters – that’s for sure! He wasn’t super excited about water in his ears though 🙂  For his age group a parent must accompany the child to help them learn to swim and practice the various exercises. It brought back a lot of childhood memories for Kevin, who used to spend a great deal of time at the pool as a life guard. An extra bonus is all of Finn’s cousins are taking swim lessons at the same time and he is in the same class as Greta! After swim lessons we went to pick strawberries at Hann Farms just south of Columbus. Despite the season being almost over we were able to pick a good number of strawberries in our short visit. Literally, every night when we put him to bed he wants two animals on each side (doggy and fishy are always opposite, monster and elephant too) and to be covered up with his blue blanket. I often find him hugging his animals when I check on him.IMG_20150611_233826741And on this night he wanted to read Lily a story, give her one of his fishes, and share his doggy and blanket. He really has the sweetest, caring temperament. DSC_0037I got home on a Saturday to find Kevin and Finn playing outside. It was a nice afternoon so we played outside for a bit, jumping off rocks, blowing dandelion flowers, and playing with the dogs. Finn runs in the door and right to my office. He gives me a hug and immediately follows up with “move now”, “sit in chair”, and he wants to sit at my desk and play with my stamps, keyboard, post-its, and so on.  He digs it.  Later this Saturday we went around the nursery a bit and Finn got to sit on golf cart (we took a spin too), a tractor, and the bobcat. DSC_0036 IMG_20150502_112644719 IMG_20150502_113547918_HDR IMG_20150502_113459695_HDR Other adventures during the week included the Touch a Truck event in Powell that Debbie took Finn and Sam to.
