I came home on Friday to a little surprise! To celebrate Finn turning 5 months old this week Kevin put together his high chair. We were excited when we bought it and it has just been sitting in the box for a couple of months. As you can see, Finn really likes it. He banged on the tray for several minutes before he’d had enough of that and wanted some real dinner.
When I put Griffin down, I usually put him on his side (or if I don’t he rolls right to his side anyhow) and he rolls pretty quickly to his tummy. It is the cutest thing when I go check on him in the morning. He is so sweet and happy, all day long really, but especially first thing in the morning. It is a treat to go in and get him once he is awake. He almost always is at the corner of his crib, with his little behind in the air.
He continues to sleep really well at night, anywhere from 8-9 1/2 hours. Just one fluke this week, Saturday of all days, when he woke up at 4 am! So Saturday was a lazy morning with a nap (or 2 – even though they were before 10 am!). Then we decided to head to the Food Truck Festival that was held downtown at Columbus Commons. Another big boy moment as we have begun to put him in the official stroller seat, not his car seat, when we are out and about. It is really nice and allows us to recline him some. Here you can see while we were at the festival, there were so many food vendors as well as local artisans selling their goods. It was a nice and sunny afternoon. We then spent the evening with the Howard’s, having a lovely dinner at the Ackerman’s. Unfortunately we didn’t take any photos but I can assure you we had a great time.
He often has lots of pets with him in his carseat, including Scoopy and his pacimal. He seems to always have something in his mouth – if not his feet, than a toy, or his bib, etc. He has also gotten really good a making many different noises with his tongue: clicking, cracking, etc., and along with that comes some funny faces!
And he loves to cuddle and giggle with his daddy. Over the past week or two he has begun to lay his head down on your shoulder when you carry him or when you pick him up or lay him down on your chest. Such a sweet feeling.
Earlier this week Kevin gave Lily and Cameron their “blue ball” (or in this case a green one) aka a racquetball. This is the toy of choice around here and they play so hard with it they end up panting while they lie down to catch their breath. This photo doesn’t capture it too well, but they were having a stare down and Lily was taunting Cameron as she so often does. Let’s just say Lily isn’t always so great at sharing – she finds it more fun to play keep away.
