IMG_20150206_193414308-2Hello blue eyes! We’ve had a pretty calm week around here this week until the weekend. Friday night excitement was for the boys to get hair cuts side-by-side at Sport Clips. Finn’s hair was cut a bit shorter than we intended, but it looks great and you can definitely see his eyes better. He sat in the chair like a perfect big boy. His stylist said she was the best little boy she had all day.  IMG_20150206_192207571_HDR-2Saturday was full of fun domestic chores like cleaning the house and doing some laundry. But the night turned ever more fun when Jaime and Aaron came over for dinner and fun with their kids Lexi and Chase. Once Finn woke up from his nap (at 5:15 pm) the kiddos enjoyed lots of play time together before we sat down for a yummy steak dinner. It was so cute to watch the kids play, I think they had a pretty good time working at the tool bench, jumping on the coach, and playing with all of the toys downstairs. DSC_0306-2 DSC_0309-2 DSC_0310-2 DSC_0312-2 DSC_0314-2 DSC_0317-2 DSC_0321-2Sunday afternoon we headed to Enon to visit with Kevin’s family and check out a potential house for Jim and Pat. Kevin, Brett, and Jim spent most of their time walking around inside and checking out potential renovation ideas and since it was so nice and “warm” out, Finn and I spent most of the time outside walking up and down the long driveway. And, of course, throwing rocks and playing with the sword (a nice long blade of pampas grass from the yard). DSC_0325-2 DSC_0329-2 DSC_0331-2 DSC_0348-2 DSC_0341-2 DSC_0342-2Griffin has been doing really well on the potty, usually going 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes he’s interested, other times he’s not. We just kind of roll with his mood and don’t push it. His vocabulary continues to grow each day too, as do his opinions (“no Mama, no” and “self” have been common ones lately!). Here are a few others from the week.  Donuts – always a favorite, reading with daddy in one of the many pairs of new jammies from cousins Graham and Roro (among other things, thanks Bethune’s!), and Friday night basketball practice with Lily and Cameron (this was before the hair cut!).  Kevin snapped the last photo on our drive back from Enon, Finn and I were a bit sleepy!IMG_20150206_082859201-2 IMG_20150206_082930343-2 IMG_20150202_205116-2 IMG_20150206_175924134_HDR-220150208_171606-2Have a great week!

DSC_0270I took a day off this week to join my parents at Amy’s house along with all of the kids to make marshmallows!  We had three mixers all running simultaneously as we whipped up three batches of pure white marshmallows. All of the kiddos enjoyed pouncing on Grandpa for a good portion of the day, especially Finn.  He actually bounced right off the couch at the end of the afternoon and bonked his head pretty good on the wall, but he hardly cried and seemed ok.  Only to follow shortly thereafter with another bonk as he fell off Rody, the horse. It was definitely time to head home for a nap!DSC_0220 DSC_0222 DSC_0228 DSC_0232 DSC_0233 DSC_0235 DSC_0238 DSC_0240 DSC_0242 DSC_0246

We had a fun and adventurous weekend beginning on Friday when we headed for a brief trip to Enon to go to Kevin’s high school, Greenon,  for a hall-of-fame induction ceremony for one of his high school class mates. The ceremony was in between the JV and Varsity boys basketball games and luckily we made it with about 15 minutes to spare before the ceremony! We even had a few minutes to walk the halls and find Kevin’s soccer team photo! There was a reception prior to the start of the varsity game, which Kevin attended while Finn and I explored the high school and watched a bit of the basketball game and cheerleaders. He was pretty mesmerized with all of the action, including the band. It was pretty loud! We were able to join Kevin at the end of the reception for a quick bite to eat before heading to Uncle Brett and Aunt Missy’s, where Grandma and Grandpa played with Griffin and the four of us headed out to meet up with Kevin’s classmates.  His high school class didn’t have a reunion last year, so this was a quickly put together gathering, but in the end there were about 15 or so who made it. I enjoyed getting to meet several of Kevin’s classmates, some of whom I’ve met before and others I hadn’t. It was a late night and an early morning, as Finn got up at about 7:40 as he stood up in his crib and said “pa pa”!  Saturday morning we enjoyed a tasty breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Grandma and Grandpa too and we then headed to Schuler’s Baker on the way out of town for some tasty take-home donuts for Sunday morning.  Yum. DSC_0278DSC_0281 DSC_0282IMG_20150131_244908909DSC_0283 DSC_0287 DSC_0290 DSC_0291 DSC_0294 DSC_0300 DSC_0302 IMG_20150131_115659847_HDRAnd here are a few other shots from the week.  Debbie, Sam, and Finn made a baby snow man, Finn plays IN Lily and Cam’s toy bucket, Finn working extra hard under the tool bench, and he and I catching some cuddles 🙂 photo (6) IMG_20150125_101641047_HDR IMG_20150127_205919481 IMG_20150124_124016499

DSC_0196The snow has begun coming down in Powell! Tonight Kevin and Griffin headed out to shovel the driveway so our little man could have some fun in the snow before bed. The snow was really heavy and wet so they made a cute little snowman!

Griffin would have stayed in there all night long if we would have let him! He loves the bubbles, all the cups and toys, and of course showing off for Lily. DSC_0130 DSC_0116 DSC_0131 DSC_0145 DSC_0152 DSC_0155Debbie and the boys had a fun week too, making playdough one day and then taking a fun trip to the Conservatory on Friday where they enjoyed walking all around the inside exhibits. They checked out the fish and plants and had a fun lunch. photo (2) photo (3)photo (4) photo (5)Saturday morning Millcreek was featured on the For Your Garden with Tom Wood segment on the Weekend Edition of Today on NBC4 Columbus.  It was a great opportunity for us to promote our nursery and talk about perennials and herbs with the public. We had 4 segments throughout the 8 am hour: an intro of Millcreek, Perennials, Propagation, and Herbs. Fred and I spoke in the Perennial segment. It was a fun experience!
