We’ve had another week of summer fun around here including the season’s last baseball game for Finn. Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein came down and watched him play. It was actually one of the best games of the season with several great hits and plays by the kids. There was so much improvement between the first game and last.

After the game we went home and had a bit of rest before heading to the annual Dublin Irish Festival. It was a H-O-T one this year. So hot. We met up with a few of our neighbors and basically hung out in the kids play zone for a few hours enjoying conversation along with some food and drinks. We ran in to several people from NPC there too so it was nice to see familiar faces. Griffin went from inflatable to inflatable and worked in many sports activities too. He was really great at the football throw and gave a shot at kicking, which is pretty hard! On Sunday we headed downtown Big City to see the Clippers play. Again, another super hot day, but thankfully our seats were in the shade and there were very few people around us so we had plenty of room to spread out. Reid did really well and spent time cruising down our aisleway. It was Family Fun day where the kids and parents can run the bases at the end of the game. Griffin and Reid (with Kevin’s help) rounded all four :).  Some of these are kind of fuzzy (not sure I’ll ever be a great photographer) but they serve as good reminders of what our typical days are like at home. The loft is really a great playspace with the carpeted floors and all of the kids toys in one place. The boys like to play with each other and Lily and Brutus often get in on the fun together too – both with each other and with the kids. Brutus tries so hard to get everyone to play with him often bringing things he know he shouldn’t have! Griffin had a dentist appointment this week where he got two fillings (a milestone I’d rather not have had at this age!). He did so great! They have a tv overhead so he happily watched a show while Dr. Nick worked quickly – we were done in 25 minutes. This practice is certainly efficient (and not inexpensive since we don’t have dental insurance for the boys or me. The used both laughing gas and novocaine – the mask helped to act as a shield where Finn couldn’t really see what was happening so I don’t even think he knew that he was being given a shot here! Afterwards we went to Bob Evans and had a tasty breakfast before I went in to work. Griffin was SO SAD that he couldn’t go with me to work that he cried for probably 10 minutes, just begging to go with me and “work” in my office with me. Poor guy, I was so tempted to take him with me – but I offered a movie at home and he took me up on that instead. He continues to do really well at swim lessons. It’s fun to see his confidence grow each week – just look at his launch off the side.  George, Fred, and I took a trip this week up to Corso’s in Castalia, OH to see their shipping process in action. We are seriously considering changing our shipping process from a pull by order pick to a “batch pull” pick system where we pick 3-4 trucks at a time. We’ve been looking in to this process since last fall as it is one that would require a new shipping and supermarket-concept facility. Corso’s is very different from Millcreek as they service box stores (Lowe’s and Home Depot) and grow a very limited number of sizes, they have order minimums of shelf quantities, etc., but to see the process in action and view their setup was very helpful. It gave us many ideas and much to talk about!

This boy and his affection for pretzels.  Anytime we are at a baseball game, the zoo, zoombeezi, a festival – he can spot the pretzel vendor within a flash. And the instant he gets one in his hands this is his expression. It’s the little things.

Work continues to be busy for me, but with Mother’s Day now past us it will begin to slow down. Friday night I was home early enough that we were able to spend some time out in the driveway during daylight (albeit at around 8 pm!) for the scooter riding (Joe), chalk-drawing, Lily-cuddling time. Kevin sketched quite the scene of Finn walking Lily through the woods. Lily likes to be around us pretty much all of the time. She’s pretty good about sticking near us, but if she sees another dog she still tends to race to greet them :|.IMG_6189 IMG_6192 IMG_6186 IMG_6187 IMG_6185

Mom and Dad also came down during the week this week to pickup some soil at Millcreek. They brought me a super yummy salad for lunch! We loaded up 7 or 8 trash cans full of soil and then used the bobcat to load the ends of the bag into the back of the truck. Felt good to use my muscles again and get out of my office chair 🙂IMG_6182I have a ton of photos like this on my phone. Griffin just loves laying next to Lils (pronounced “yils”).  Lily, not always so much, but she puts up with it. She often turns her head and faces the wall underneath the white bed in Finn’s room. But on this night they were making faces at each other. IMG_6165 IMG_6172 IMG_6174The zoo was a fun spot this week as well as making some artwork at home. check out Finn’s x-ray of his arm and his community helpers artwork. I love that Debbie writes down what Finn thinks each of the helpers do – pretty cute. IMG_6193 IMG_6256 IMG_6261IMG_6179 IMG_6178On Saturday, I was actually able to get out of work after only a half day! So Finn and I met up with the Bethune’s for some afternoon fun at COSI, followed by my first trip to Fox in the Snow Cafe. Although we arrived pretty close to closing, it was delish!IMG_6211 IMG_6197 IMG_6200 IMG_6221 IMG_6237 IMG_6241 IMG_6243 IMG_6245 IMG_6246 IMG_6251And on Sunday, we had family in town as Brett, Missy, Sebastian and Alexis visited us on a very cool spring day. We adventured downtown to the Clippers Baseball Game. It was a family fun day – so at the end of the game the kids and families get to run the bases.  The last time Finn did it he was about 4 or 5 months old and Kevin ran with him, swooping him down to touch each base. Alexis and Sebastian ran with him, and Kevin followed behind filming a video. Brett sent me the video below – which includes Kevin filming the video :). It was a fun afternoon followed by a cookout at our house afterwards. IMG_6264 IMG_6277 IMG_6283 IMG_6284 IMG_6286 IMG_6292 IMG_6304

photoBig Machines was a hit with Finn! Debbie took him down to COSI this week and they had their Big Machines exhibit going on where the kids can actually get up in the machines and play with them. He really loved it and he brought home his construction “hard” hat too. He also played in the painting/arts area inside and with some small diggers too.  I love seeing the updates on what adventures Finn goes on during the day via the photos Debbie puts in our app 🙂photo(4) photo(3) photo(2)

We went to our first Clipper’s game of the season to celebrate Father’s Day. It was a beautiful evening. And it was Dime-a-Dog Night too – a great combination. Finn ate two hot dogs amongst other things. We had lovely seats and we really had a nice time.

Finn continues to love his swim lessons. He gets so excited to get in the water. He’s doing really well with kicking and reaching for things and climbing out of the water.  There are resident fish and water turtles in a couple of tanks outside of the pool area and every week Finn likes to go and check them out 🙂IMG_20150627_103754364 IMG_20150627_111747503

We’ve spent a lot of time together with our family and friends over the last couple of weeks. Finn loves being able to see his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He gets so excited when people come to our house to “play”. We’re thankful for having family close-by. Finn loves the attention and affection from everyone, including Grandma Armstrong as you can see here! IMG_20150622_103209296_HDR

After Nathan’s Memorial Service on Sunday we had family and friends over to our house to spend time together and have some lunch. At the end of the day we decided to venture to Graeter’s for a sweet treat. We all ended up on the patio and the boys enjoying trying to get the water fountain working!IMG_20150628_200546387_HDR IMG_20150628_200621329 IMG_20150628_202031556 We actually made it to Graeter’s twice this week. Here is Finn enjoying a taste of my chocolate-dipped waffle cone filled with black raspberry chip. It’s my new favorite treat. IMG_20150624_201819842
