Finn ~ 3 weeks

IMG_20130403_181754_419On Saturday we took a nice family stroller walk through the neighborhood. Finn was a bit fussy for part of it, but I enjoyed being able to get out and walk around outside of the house – he really is in the stroller in the pic below :). We did other fun things – like drove to Culver’s to get dinner (the drive thru!) and then watched the OSU basketball game. Finn has been fussy during the 9 pm – midnight stretch for the past several nights. But once night falls he is a sleepy guy and sleeps well during the night. IMG_20130401_170116_145

Easter Sunday was Finn’s first trip to church. He slept through the entire service. Several people came over to admire him and remarked at how cute he was and how much hair he has. He was adored by many. We headed to Enon after church for the Armstrong Easter gathering. We enjoyed a nice lunch with Kevin’s extended family on the Armstrong side. It was Finn’s first road trip and he did really well.  Slept the entire time and woke up once we arrived. Just in time for me to feed him and then pass him around for everyone to hold!  On our way home we stopped at my sister’s house in Dublin for the Beilstein Easter dinner. Today was Amy’s due date – so the whole family was trying to think of ways to get her to go into labor, but none of them worked!DSC_0457 DSCF2073 fuji camera 005 fuji camera 017 fuji camera 018 fuji camera 020 fuji camera 028

I’ve been pretty spoiled lately – getting breakfast in bed made by my loving hubby. Talk about gourmet oatmeal!IMG_20130402_073757_818

I made my first solo trip out of the house with Finn. I was itching to get out of the house so I headed over to Amy’s house for a little visit on Thursday. He was really fussy prior to leaving our house. I was worried I wouldn’t ever be able to leave since when I put him in the car seat he piped right up with loud crying! He had been fussy for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but I finally put him in the car and got on the road and he fell asleep!  Yay. So we visited at Amy’s for awhile and then made a quick pit stop on the way home, my first time taking Finn into a store by myself. He didn’t make a peep, it was a quick in and out at Drug Mart.  Success!-IMG952660

Friday we had a couple of visitors – Connie first, followed by Sarah, Audrey, and Samantha. Finn was sleepy and sweet for all of it. He slept almost the entire time. Then Kevin came home early from work and we spent a nice Friday afternoon together.DSC_0459 DSC_0458 IMG_20130404_090929_944

Saturday we headed out to dinner at Old Bag of Nails in Powell and watched the Buckeyes play. Once again, Finn slept through everything. We figure it won’t always be this easy so we might as well take advantage of it now!IMG_20130406_201132_129And here are a few more shots from the week! Finn gets in plenty of cuddles and is making some fun faces. And Lily and Cameron got in on some cuddles too!IMG_20130405_194045_847 IMG_20130403_080903_661 IMG_20130403_080858_692 IMG_20130402_161949_133 IMG_20130402_101325_313 IMG_20130402_101558_988 IMG_20130401_184557_194 IMG_20130401_101007_392fuji camera 003

Our Wedding Day!

We are so blessed to have had such a wonderful wedding day! We were surrounded by our families and friends and the day couldn’t have been more perfect!

Be forewarned – there are lots of photos here! Henry Photography did an excellent job capturing everything about the day.

Kevin and I (ok, mostly me!) wanted to do a “first look” so we could see one another and spend some special moments with each other in daylight, prior to taking our vows.  It was a sunny, yet cool day. After our meeting on the roof-top terrace at the Renaissance Hotel we spent some time going around Columbus with our wonderful friends who joined us as our wedding party! And we were fortunate to have our friend, and pastor, Rev. James Kessler unite us in marriage!

How does it go – great  minds think alike? Little did Kevin or I know we had very similar gifts to give one another. You see Kevin always joked about getting married wearing a kilt fashioned out of the Armstrong tartan.  Since the kilt idea wasn’t going to happen my sister helped me come up with the idea of kilt “socks” that Kevin could wear with his tux. I was able to find a shop in Scotland (online of course) that would custom make the socks in the Armstrong tartan! I was really excited 🙂 Then, as a complete surprise to me, Kevin had the idea to have his dad present to me a sash, fashioned out of the Armstrong tartan and complete with the Armstrong coat of arms pin, at the beginning of the reception. I was floored and thought it was the perfect gesture to welcome me to the family!

We will let the pictures tell the rest of the story!
