Morning snuggle time is the best way to start my day! It makes it hard to leave in the morning though for sure.  Reid continues to enjoy meal time and is learning to eat more and more new foods. He definitely seems to favor meat (sausage, beef, chicken) and sweet veggies (peas, corn, carrots). He’s hit or miss with fruits as some days he’ll eat them and others not. He does love pears for sure. Strawberries and blueberries sometimes, watermelon he kind of plays with, canteloupe he’ll usually eat. Raspberries are usually a negative. Just depends on his mood I suppose.  Debbie took the boys to Library Park and Franklin Park Conservatory this week and Finn loved seeing the butterflies. This was Reid’s first time there and it looks like he had fun too 🙂 In all honesty since I’m writing these post several weeks after the fact and Debbie is no longer our nanny, I have mixed emotions looking at these pictures. Happy that they had so much fun with her and she loved them well and sad that things ended the way the did. It could have been so much better.  These next two pictures Finn created at pre-school and I put them in here as a reminder to myself about the simple joys of being a kid and the ways they find happiness and fun in the littlest things. Man, I wish I were a kid again some days!  Mr. Reid becomes Mr. Sassy sometimes when he doesn’t have something he sees someone else does. He’s getting really good with the contigo cups so I’ve started giving him one when I give Griffin one. He loves it! We joined the Bethune’s, Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein, and other friends for Greta’s 5th birthday with a party at the rink. Finn hadn’t been on the ice in probably two years. He was definitely timid in the beginning but after a short bit he was off and skating on his own! Check out his hockey shirt that he chose for the day, a hand-me-down from his cousins 🙂

Reid really resembles Rowan a lot as a baby (is that enough R’s?). While we were at the Bethune’s we checked out a photo album from when Rowan was the same age as Reid (around 47 weeks). It’s crazy how much they look alike and how their hair is very similar too! Great photo of the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa! Griffin is often my errand buddy. The two of us head out on adventures and Reid stays home with Daddy sometimes. We headed to the Polaris area and decided to get Finn a lunch at the new Corner Bakery. He loved it and I loved the manager who was so friendly. He walked around and as he stopped to talked to us he invited us up for a free cookie after his meal. Of course Finn was happy about that 🙂 And here is another Saturday morning photo snapped by Daddy of the boys having a fun morning while I was away at work. Boxes make the best toys. On Sunday I met up with my college friends for brunch. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other and while we didn’t have a long time to hang it was good to see everyone and get updates on everyone’s lives! It’s been 20 years since we graduated from OU! Yikes!

This picture is a good example of these two lately. Griffin loves to hold Reid and they both are smiley and silly for a few minutes. Then Griffin says “ok, you can take him now” and he’s ready to be done.

We had Reid’s 4 month well-check this week, a little later than it should be since we were on vacation for his 2 month check up so that one was a bit behind and this one follows suit since the vaccinations are spaced out. He is growing really well and is a healthy boy! He weighed in at 15 pounds, 10.4 ounces (45th percentile), 25.5″ tall (51st percentile), and head circumference 44.2 cm (97th percentile). He is definitely getting longer as we can tell his clothes are getting stretched more when his legs are straight and he’s filling out the co-sleeper as you can see! He got two shots and an oral vaccine. He cried after the second one as it stings pretty good they say. But he recovered quickly and we headed home where he was sleepy for the afternoon and part of the next day.

I’m continually amazed at how neat and tidy Griffin insists on being while coloring! And more apple painting this week, at school. He also did some fun painting at home using foil. Check out the concentration face :).  Our chair arrived this week! Kevin enjoyed relaxing in it while feeding Reid a bottle one afternoon. It’s comfy and it spins around. The floor is a bit slippery for the ottoman though as it moves when you bend your knees and use it as a rest! We’ll have to figure out something to do until we put our rug out when the couch arrives. On Saturday we went to Leeds Farm with the Kesslers for a fun afternoon of fall festivities. There is so much for kids to do there and it was a beautiful and sunny fall afternoon, a perfect day really! We went on a wagon ride, Griffin rode pedal karts, jumped on the orange pumpkin floor, went on a barrrel ride (Laura too, lol), and many other things.  After we left Leeds we went home and picked up the dogs and headed to Mansfield for a short visit since we hadn’t seen Mom and Dad in awhile. It was a short and sweet visit.  Reid is super close to turning over. He makes it most of the way and then usually returns to his back. He’s yet to pull his right arm out from underneath himself. He’s so close!
We keep finding Griffin asleep on the floor of his room near the door! It can be challenging to get in his room to move him to his bed!

And here is a video of Griffin singing in the bathtub this week. I love it when I find him singing songs he has learned at school or vbs or church!

The many faces of Reid! Our little man has so many expressions and simply the most heart-warming smile. He lights up the room and can make anyone smile when he turns his on. He’s been eating his hands a lot and drooling on the regular. This weekend Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong came for a visit and Grandpa and Kevin put in new lights in Reid’s room. Four recessed lights along with a ceiling fan and light combo. It is SO nice to have light in there now! Grandma enjoyed playing with Reid and Griffin and I was able to get all kinds of things done which was an awesome feeling! We are thankful for their help. Reid even spent some time in the “walker”, which we use as a stationary play set for him. He makes the cutest faces as he concentrates and reaches for the noisemakers.

Reid is really in to grabbing any and everything. He’s getting pretty close to outgrowing the baby bassinet that we use on the countertops as he can grab the sun visor!

I enjoy seeing the fun the boys have during the day. Reid has been enjoying having books read to him by Debbie and Griffin.

Here is Reid’s ceiling before any lights followed by a pic from after they were almost finished. What a huge difference! The recessed lights are LED too.  Kevin also put a new LED light in his closet too.  And here you can check out Griffin showing off his little bro’s room. This particular evening he had me laughing so hard I was crying. He wanted me to record him so I took several videos, one of which I’ve posted here. He was so excited and being so silly. I’m happy to have it on video.

This. It just kind of worries me and perplexes me at the same time. Reid almost always falls asleep with his right eye cracked open! Sometimes it’s both of his eyes but always his right eye open more than his left. I plan to ask the pediatrician about it at his 4 month well check and I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about but it’s kind of freaky to me! Debbie was unexpectedly sick this week so I ended up going in to work late on day and taking Reid with me.  Thankfully he is an easy baby and slept or was happy while we were there long enough for me to get some things taken care of. The following day Jim and Pat came up which was a great help!Griffin continues to enjoy playing with our neighbors Cole and Cooper. They go back and forth playing at each of our houses, inside, outside, it just depends on the day and the weather! We love that he has kiddos to play with in our neighborhood.  And here he is eating his favorite choice: fish and chips! Although this night he was able to tell the fish wasn’t “cod” and he wasn’t as big of a fan as he typically is. This kid cracks me up.
