Look who got to bring home the class mascot this week! Finn was so excited to bring home Tony the Tiger from his class. We had an action packed weekend weekend and Tony was able to join us on our adventures!
Tony’s first adventure was to help Finn make dinosaur fossils with Debbie and Sam. It looked like quite a fun baking experience.
Next up was a bike ride through our neighborhood followed by ice cream at Graeters and plenty of snuggles. Yum!
On Saturday we went on a road trip to pick apples at Apple Hill with Mom and Dad. It was a warm and sunny afternoon, a perfect day to be outside! And once again, Lily was able to join us. This girl is getting to be pretty spoiled!
Afterwards we decided on a whim to stop for dinner at the Buckeye Diner, which is just off Rt 97 exit of 71. The restaurant is an old train that has been converted to a diner. We all had burgers and fries and played around a bit outside before heading home.
Sunday was yet another beautiful day and our adventures took us to our annual trip to the New Albany Classic. It was WARM and sunny. The layout was a bit different this year so all of the inflatables were in the sunshine, which made it nice yet very hot! Tony the Tiger got to meet princesses and see some horse-jumping. One of Finn’s favorite parts was new this year. They had a Hollywood exhibit that showcased costumes and apparel from movies and shows. Batman, Spiderman, Ironman and many other characters outfits were there. The plants in this exhibit looked really cool this year, most of them were from Millcreek!
And here are a few others from our week. Finn is getting to be really great using a knife for cutting. Here he wanted to help me cut onions for dinner and he did a fine job. Finn, Debbie, and Sam also ventured to Highbanks Metro Park this week where they explored nature and got their feet wet! And they made yummy pumpkin sugar-cookie cut-outs!

We had a fun pillow fight too.
Dad had put out a lot of the plant markers we gave him for his birthday too – I took these photos to send to Kevin while he was on his trip :).

On Friday we went to the annual Powell Festival and met up with a couple of our neighbors. We had fun listening to live bands, enjoying the food trucks, and Finn loved the kids zone play area.

And even though we are already well into summer, this year we’ve been talking about putting together a bucket list of summer time activities. So one morning I wrote it all out – we’ve got fun plans ahead!

Earlier in the week Debbie was off for a couple of days, so my sister was kind enough to watch Griffin on Monday. She picked him up from pre-school, along with the other kiddos and they had a fun afternoon playing in bear-suits and being silly. My mom came down later that night and we had dinner and then headed to Graeter’s for dessert, of course! Then on Tuesday mom stayed home and played with Finn for the day. Super thankful our families are always helping us when we need it!
Tuesday was also Finn’s last soccer lesson for this session. He really loved running around and learning a bit about soccer. They also work on motor skills, listening, and various athletic skills too. Some of these photos are fuzzy, but they show him having fun nonetheless. And at the last lesson Kevin went out and played a game of “sharks and minnows” at the end of the class. It was a beautiful night so we celebrated with dinner on the patio at Liberty Tavern, where Finn likes to get his picture taken next to the Statue of Liberty.
We’ve been playing outside a fair bit lately since the weather has been so nice. Finn was hitting balls off the tee and after a bit we decided to pitch to him. He has a really solid swing (and an accurate throw for his age too!) and made contact several times with the ball. I took a video and he missed the ball the first video I shot, so I figured I would take another. And here is what happened:
