DSC_0191Happy Easter! We have had a fun weekend with a trip on Saturday to Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein’s house where we had an afternoon full of many activities. We began by making chocolate nests with jelly beans and chicks. Next up was an Easter Egg Hunt with plastic eggs and confetti eggs. The kiddos really thought it was pretty funny to smash the confetti eggs on each other 🙂  And after a yummy dinner we colored some easter eggs. Finn was super tired but didn’t want to take a nap while we were visiting. Sure enough, we hadn’t even been in the car 5 minutes on our way back to Columbus before he was out like a light, and he never falls asleep in the car!IMG_20150404_144627899_HDR-2 DSC_0006 DSC_0012 DSC_0013 DSC_0016 DSC_0027 DSC_0030 DSC_0032 DSC_0045 DSC_0048 DSC_0049 DSC_0050 DSC_0054 DSC_0063 DSC_0066 DSC_0067 DSC_0070 DSC_0074 DSC_0082 DSC_0085 DSC_0089 DSC_0092 DSC_0095 DSC_0098 DSC_0103 DSC_0105 DSC_0110 DSC_0122 DSC_0128 DSC_0130 DSC_0131 DSC_0135 IMG958327 DSC_0138 DSC_0156 DSC_0160 DSC_0162 DSC_0171 DSC_0175 DSC_0179 DSC_0185 DSC_0188Easter morning we woke up early and headed to the 9 am service at our church. We had a nice continental breakfast between services and then served in the nursery for the second service.  Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong visited for the afternoon at our house where we had another fun-filled afternoon. Finn enjoyed playing (and building) his new soccer goal from Grandma and Grandpa before we headed outdoors for an Easter Egg hunt on a sunny afternoon. Lily and Cameron even ventured out and about to participate! Finn wasn’t interested in napping so we had a fairly early dinner and then it was an early night night time for him tonight. We’ve had a fun-filled family weekend celebrating the Resurrection of Christ! He is Risen!DSC_0221 DSC_0227 DSC_0232

Here they are at 1-week. Everything has germinated really well and we’ve taken off the covers already! Finn likes sitting on the counter and checking them out each day. DSC_0204 DSC_0206 DSC_0210 DSC_0211 DSC_0212 DSC_0213And here is an energetic Super Finn!

DSC_0047Here he is, our adventuresome 2 year old. While I was outside on Saturday conducting some “backyard cleanup” I asked Finn to either stay on the porch or sit in this chair. He kind of went back and forth between the two. I kept my eye on him from afar and while I was along the back fence I saw him pick up a stick and start poking at the planter you can see in the background. What I couldn’t see from afar was that he was actually digging in deep with his hands and spreading the soil from the planter all over the patio!  When I walked closer I discovered the big mess, but actually thought it was pretty funny.  I’m glad he’s not afraid to mess around in the dirt. He clearly enjoyed himself and being outside of the house though in this last photo he looks a bit guilty 🙂DSC_0048 DSC_0049It was a really calm week here. My mom and dad prepared a lovely lasagna dinner for Saturday night for a family gathering at our place with the Bethune’s. We celebrated Amy’s birthday and mine too with a lovely spring-inspired cake made by mom. And Sunday afternoon we spent some time at Easton starting with lunch at NorthStar followed by a bit of shopping and walking around to enjoy the sunshine. It was still a pretty brisk day.DSC_0050 DSC_0053 DSC_0054 DSC_0058 DSC_0060 DSC_0061

We even ran in the Easter bunny! Finn spent the next several minutes hopping through the mall!IMG_20150322_131345 IMG_20150322_135546377_HDR IMG_20150322_135804075

DSC_0286We finally got some of that white stuff and super frigid temps to go with it! It was so cold out, we weren’t really able to play in the snow. Finn and Daddy did shovel the driveway the morning the snow arrived. I think they both had some fun 🙂  Later that day Debbie, Finn, and Sam played with the snow in the warm indoors – lucky, eh?DSC_0288 photo (60)Monday Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong came up to play with Finn for the day.  Finn had lots of fun playing and showing Grandma all of his skills. It was frigid out, so we all enjoyed some spicy black bean chili for dinner before they headed back home.

Finn hit another milestone this week as he put on his pants and shirt all by himself! His pants were backwards, but we’ll take it! He has really been into picking out his clothes for awhile now either in the morning to get dressed, or at night he picks out his jammies. He also has put on his shoes or boots a few times but will usually ask for help. photo (59)I attended the CENTS show this week so Kevin and I were able to fit in two date-nights this week. We went out to dinner both nights as we met up after work. Our fave was G. Michaels. I had a delicious Roasted Butternut Squash salad followed by the Vegetarian Plate which also included grits. Here it is – it was AMAZING. And I brought home tons of it and enjoyed it on Saturday.  Yum!  Kevin enjoyed Fried Gerber Chicken with braised greens, cayenne mashed sweets, kitchen sink gravy, and pepper jam.

IMG_20150108_18541436620150108_185409We also celebrated Debbie’s one year anniversary with us on Wednesday.  I left early for work all week, so I wasn’t here in the morning, but Finn and I baked some vanilla cupcakes and decorated them with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Debbie, Finn, and Sam enjoyed them for lunch, amongst other things, of course. DSC_0289It was a pretty typical week otherwise. Painting with some new sparkle paints, enjoying tomato soup, playing with tools, walking around like a blue monster, Lily enjoying the sunshine, and making Buckeyes in preparation for Monday’s National Championship Game!photo (58) photo (57) photo (61) 20150111_201648 IMG_20150110_101326949 IMG_20150110_113840583Here’s a cute video of Kevin and Finn reading night time stories tonight.  He was pretty loopy at the end!
