It’s that time of year again where Kevin finds us fun costumes to wear to our friends Halloween Party! This year we were players from the movie Dodge Ball. Claire and Eric hosted another great party this year. We went over together with our neighbors Brian and Lisa  – and Wyndbend Blvd took home some awards! We won for “Funniest Costume” and Brian and Lisa won “Scariest Costume”. It’s always a fun night. Griffin tagged along with me to the mall for a second time within a week. He’s always excited to play in the play space, wanting me to watch his every move as he happily jumps off the animals and runs at high speeds. Today we also brought home Tracker, his new Beany Boo.  Griffin was so excited that he received the accessories from our Dodgeball uniform outfits. He’s loving the sweatbands for his wrists and head as well as the dodgeball itself.  Hannah did some cute artwork with Reid this week while Finn was at school. So cute! Cole and Cooper will not be with Brian and Lisa for Trick or Treat, and since our tradition is to walk around the neighborhood together we weren’t going to be able to do that. Brian and Lisa invited us over to their house for some pre Trick-or-Treat fun of dinner and decorating cookies. The kids exchanged some candy and had fun playing together.  On Saturday Griffin went to another birthday party for his friend Jonas, who goes to Tyler Run but is in a different class. They play together on the playground and also were classmates at Locker Soccer for soccer lessons. His mom, Laura, sent me the cutest picture from the party which was at Jonas’ house, a small gathering of friends. He had a great time! We celebrated Lily’s 10th birthday on Sunday. Our girl is definitely aging, she has a constant limp from the arthritis she has in many of her joints (elbows, knees, shoulders, ankles). But She’s a tough cookie. And when she’s excited about something or someone arrives home she jumps right up and darts to the door like a young pup, and a loud obnoxious one too! Her alert barking is still very much on point. And she is the best tattle-tale, often barking a signature bark when she is alerting us that Brutus is getting in to something or has something that he shouldn’t. She’s a smart and sassy one. She loves to be cuddled and finds peaces in the smallest and quietest spaces. Happy Birthday sweet Lils!

I love this picture of Reid even though it is out of focus. Our morning time is one of my favorite times of the day. He’s only up a short bit before going down for his first nap, but he is happy and fun and I love that I get to see him and put him down for a nap before I leave for the day. And that belly! He’s got the widest and happiest smile. He’s a really happy baby but don’t let us fool you, he has his temperamental moments too. He knows what he wants and when it gets taken away he’ll let you know he’s unhappy! He’s pulling himself up to his knees and will stand at things if you place him that way, but he’s not yet pulled himself up on his own.  I struggle with control and order but I’ve been intentional about letting Reid and Griffin explore and make messes and just be kids.  How did I ever become such a control freak that thrives on order? Ugh, it can be paralyzing so I’m trying really hard to let go of that or at least lessen up! Both kids find so much joy and fun in the littlest things so I’m working hard to encourage that and not be such a rule maker or enforcer. Tooth number 5 has popped through, lower right (left when looking at him!). One of his mad faces, lol! Almost buddy, you just have your legs twisted! Finn loves painting and coloring. Here he is with his thundercloud masterpiece.  Dinner at Panera after Tuesday night soccer. I’m glad I’ve still been able to leave work early to take Finn for the end of Session 3.  Crazy hair!Preschool artwork! Brothers having fun together and being in “jail”.  Brutus.  He’s always around, especially when there is food. Isn’t he pretty? Look at our little Lils with bone on her nose snuggling with Hailey in her puppy days.  Just a typical day around here.  Lots of crawling around and climbing all over the dogs.  Pretty boy and girl! Happy birthday to me! A macaron in bed at 6:30 am! And a beautiful flower arrangement! We attended a Millcreek social on my birthday (which was a Friday this year) so that was pretty much our night.  On Saturday we headed to Mansfield to celebrate birthday’s for Amy and me. We met up at Malabar Farm’s Maple Syrup Days. Reid was tired and it was super cold (and we didn’t bring him a coat, what?) so he and I stayed in the car while everyone had some fun on the farm. Thankful for the good pics from Amy and Kevin! And the bunny birthday cake tradition continues thanks to my hubby! He picked up the supplies this year again and assembled everything in Mansfield before our family birthday dinner. Griffin and Greta had a pretty swell time decorating this year. Look at those happy faces.  Graham loves to talk to and play with Reid. He usually gets in some good snuggle time too. And Grandma loves her baby snuggles too :).  Another happy day with Debs! Amy came out to Millcreek this week to snap some staff and plant photos. I wondered around with her and loved seeing the in-bloom hellebores.  Just wish the weather was cooperating more so that everyone in the garden centers would want to see these beauties too! Greta loved being on the tractors and golf carts.  Our Marketing director and myself have been working on some facility enhancements. This week some new artwork went up in the lobby of the main office and in the main hallway. Looks nice!

February 4, 2018 ~ 37 weeks

They say as you get older time seems to pass more quickly and I certainly feel that way these days. How can it already be February? The boys are both a lot of fun and also can be challenging from time to time. Griffin has been rather temperamental lately and it has been trying on my patience and my response. He acts cranky and gives off attitude, talks back, or simply is not happy with any option or choice for a period of time. “You never let me eat that”, “if you don’t let me watch tv I’m not going to go to bed”, “I’m never going to listen”. “I’m not going to eat that. It’s too chewy. I don’t like pepper anymore. I only like crunchy bacon”. “I don’t like cucumbers” (um, what?).  He’s been going to bed at a good hour and getting good rest, he just seems to be going through a phase and it is wearing me out! There have been several nights where he’s lost part of his bedtime routine, sometimes from events during the day with Debbie too. Hoping this stage passes soon!

Despite the crankiness, we’ve also had some fun this week. Kevin continues to work long and crazy hours. He’s working hard and his projects are pretty stressful right now as they are encountering some pretty significant hiccups. He’s pretty exhausted as he’s been working 75 or so hours a week and some calls/emails on weekends too. We miss having Daddy around. So we were super excited that he was able to join us at Dewey’s in Worthington to celebrate our neighbor, Cole’s birthday on Monday night! The restaurant was not very full and the kids enjoyed going back and forth from the table to watching the pizza guys. For dessert there was a Graeter’s ice cream cake (yum!) and we enjoyed hanging with Brian, Lisa, Alex, Bernie, and all of the kids.

The boys had fun making valentine artwork this week and Griffin also made some purple sparkle slime.  I love when I get to see pictures from the day in the app we use. And it is so fun that Griffin takes some of the photos! This one is great, even Lily is being sassy.  And speaking of Lils, look at this girl and Mom from Christmas Day in 2009!I feel like so many pictures are taking in our bedroom! First thing in the morning has often been the only time we’re all together for the day. And Reid goes to bed within an hour of me getting home from work so that time is filled with feeding and getting ready for bed! On Saturday, we did enjoy some play in the loft. When Griffin was younger he absolutely loved standing up all the time. Reid stands some, but isn’t always as interested. We’ve been working with him on pulling himself up. In these pics I stood him up next to his music stand. He stays there, but hasn’t yet figured out to move his legs to re-balance himself yet! He gets up on his knees and hands and rocks back and forth alot, though he still “army” crawls using his forearms and knees. He’s pretty fast and can get anywhere he wants. He often goes to the door in his room and if it’s cracked open he will open it all the way and start crawling down the hallway.  And this boy is such an attention seeker. Have I mentioned his love of tissues? He is the sneakiest and if you leave a tissue anywhere, say on my nightstand, the minute you get up and walk away he sneaks right over and tries to snatch it off the table. I mean any and all paper products he wants to eat. I don’t get it, but it reminds me of weimaraners and sometimes I think he’s got to be part weimaraner. He is really gentle with Reid and constantly wants to lick him to give him affection. He lays his head as close as he can (or even on) any toy that Reid is playing with.  Griffin doesn’t nap anymore, but some days he falls asleep when we’re out and about in the car. This day it was probably only 1 in the afternoon but he was out like a light.  Since Reid goes to be around 6 or so each night we don’t venture out much in the evenings anymore. But on Saturday we headed to Roosters after running a bunch of errands. There was a pretty decent wait so we hung out in the car 🙂
