IMG_20160202_192642816This week was our last swim lesson at Goldfish. We’ve been having a lot of fun at lessons and Griffin has certainly learned a lot. He has such strength in his arms and legs and just loves climbing out of the pool only to do the “Alligator Alligator on the wall, Alligator Alligator watch me fall” activity. Kevin came along with us for our last class and was able to get some cute photos, including one with his teacher, Miss Paige.  He just loved her!

Kevin’s Google account put together a cute video of several of the pictures:

Griffin has had fun this week with Debbie, making a box for his Valentine cards. He painted the box and got to decorate it too. Then later in the week Finn, Kevin, and I cut out the parts needed to make his Valentine cards for his Guppy classmates at preschool. Griffin got a lot of practice using his scissors – you can see a short video below. IMG_4233 IMG_4235 IMG_4236 IMG_4237IMG_4251 IMG_4253 IMG_4256

And later that afternoon we enjoyed a short visit with Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong!

IMG_4257 IMG_4259We watched the Superbowl with our Small Group and this year we incorporated a service project into the evening. All of our families brought food items that were used to make snack bags for families that are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their children are receiving care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Our group made over 120 bags and the kids enjoyed grabbing a bag and putting snacks in it for others to enjoy later.IMG_4266 IMG_4263 IMG_4335Check out our cute little Dr. Armstrong!IMG_4249

DSC_0035Remember this? While there is still snow on the ground here the weather is certainly warming up.  Between work, travel, and just everyday life I’ve gottten a bit behind on the blog over the last couple of weeks!  So we’re just going to travel back in time a bit to when we had a big winter snowfall.

Finn loves going outside to play in the snow and help shovel (shobel) with his daddy. Since our driveway is pretty long Kevin is happy to have a helper 😉  Albeit on this particular day it was right before nap time so he was a bit bleary not to mention suited up pretty well for the cold weather so it was a bit more difficult to move than in an everyday outfit! The first two pics are from our new kitchen window. It’s just so pretty to look into our backyard and see this. I love the amount of trees we have and the large backyard and when the snow falls it looks so serene.

DSC_0012 DSC_0006 DSC_0017 DSC_0011 DSC_0015We even brought Lily outside (to be quite honest she was yelping from inside, practically begging to come out). She loved adventuring around the front yard and running super fast through the snow. DSC_0023 DSC_0024 DSC_0040 DSC_0030 DSC_0045 DSC_0047 DSC_0048 DSC_0050We even played a game where Kevin tossed a shovel full of snow on top of Lily, and then Finn wanted daddy to do the same thing to him!DSC_0051 DSC_0052 DSC_0054 DSC_0056 We purchased a basketball hoop for Finn this week – he absolutely loves it! He was shooting so well that I decided to take a video of him. Check this out – he made four shots in a row!

Finn’s verbal skills are getting so good. He is learning new words every day and showing that he understands new concepts too. He often surprises me with what he says. If we ask him to try to say something he is usually game to repeat it – and he is usually quite good! He’s putting 3, 4, or 5 words together at a time, all the time! Some popular ones are “miss you so much daddy”, “love you so much”, “right here mommy”, “that’s enough now, nuff”, “where is daddy at”, “lily (yily) come now”, “lily (yily) that’s nuff” (if she’s drinking a lot of water), “help daddy shobel now outside”. You get the idea 🙂

And here are a few more odds and ends. We now have our pendant lights above the island up! Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles. Finn and I did some early Easter painting. And of course we always enjoy donuts around here!20150216_205738-2 20150216_201306-2 DSC_0001 DSC_0004 DSC_0005 IMG_20150221_120130810

Have a good week!

Finn ~ 51 weeks

DSC_0323_51weeks   It’s been a low-key week around here. My work schedule is picking up some as I have a lot of projects that we are trying to get wrapped up before the spring craze sets in. It’s hard to believe it is that time of year, but it has almost arrived. It is nice to walk around at work and see all of the newly potted production and we have begun to ship on a small scale mostly to the south. Finn and Sam have fun with each other, one usually wanting what the other has. Here they are going back and forth with Sam’s Elmo!DSC_0291 DSC_0292 DSC_0293photo   On Friday and Saturday I attended the women’s retreat put on through our church. It was a nice event, and a lot of the content continues to resonate with me. It was my first overnight away from Finn since he has arrived! I did ok though, and he was totally fine without me (ha! no surprise there!). Kevin’s parents came up to hang out for a bit Friday evening and stayed the night. Grandma and Grandpa brought the fun tunnel that you see Finn crawling through (and daddy playing in) in these photos. They had some fun play time with him and it worked out great that Kevin was able to take Cameron and Lily to the Vet for their yearly appointments Saturday morning while they watched Finn. We’re a bit concerned about all of the growths (lipomas) on Cameron, though she has always had some and as she ages they said it is common for her to have more of them. However, her lymph nodes were slightly enlarged so we are having that looked in to. She’s had a hard time with the stairs and getting up on the couch and we’ve learned she has arthritis pretty good in three of her four legs, so she is going to begin taking Rimadyl which was the medication Hailey had taken for a long time. This aging is no fun!

Finn had a slight fever Saturday evening. Seems as though he is getting another tooth, his lower left, and so far fever seems to be a good indicator that it’s teething time. That makes 7! Enjoy your week – it’s party prep time for us, we almost have a 1-year old on our hands!DSC_0296 DSC_0302 DSC_0313 DSC_0327 DSC_0332 DSC_0333 DSC_0335 DSC_0338 DSC_0343 DSC_0348DSC_0350 DSC_0352 DSC_0358 DSC_0361 DSC_0371 DSC_0379 DSC_0389 DSC_0397 DSC_0402 DSC_0407
