IMG_20150716_194900888Here’s Finn at our local spot, Liberty Tavern.  Sometimes he goes up to something and will say “take my picture”, which is what he did here!

I’ve been enjoying 1-2 days off each week and filling those days with fun activities with Griffin. This week I left the camera on the counter and just used my cell phone, which doesn’t take the greatest pics. But we hit up the pet store where he loves to venture around the store and look at all of the animals and hold as many as he can. He picks out a dog that he wants to hold and play with and then gets some time with the puppy in the play pens. He also seeks out the turtle too! Afterward we headed to the bookstore and picked out a couple of fun new books and played with the trains.IMG_20150715_113555205 IMG_20150715_113602918 IMG_20150715_113658912 IMG_20150715_114108348 IMG_20150715_120407592 IMG_20150715_120837712 IMG_20150715_132633655Somehow we seemed to fit in a couple trips to Graeter’s too. Finn has been venturing further away from us lately, in a good way, and overcoming some of his shyness. This particular night we were in line and he said to me “I’m going to go sit at the table”, which he did. It really surprised me as it was his own idea and there was another boy already sitting at the table and he normally wouldn’t want to go by himself. Sure enough he went and sat there and made a new friend.  So cute!IMG_20150713_192946042 IMG_20150719_203242141 IMG_20150719_202234610We also had a fun evening at the park with Daddy.IMG_20150713_195707500_HDR IMG_20150713_200240876

I was downtown early in the week for a trade show and at the end of the day hung out a bit at the North Market where I enjoyed a yummy coffee from Stauf’s. They seriously have the best coffee.  Kevin and I were also able to meet up for a late lunch at Si Senor, our favorite spot for lunch when we were dating. IMG_20150714_165322901Finn spent some more time in the kitchen this week making cupcakes with Debbie. They had lots of fun and he chose to make pink cupcakes “for mom because she really likes it”. He’s really a thoughtful boy 🙂photo photo(1) photo(2) photo(3)He’s been spending time learning about animals and “arting” as he calls it. Here he painted an alligator, turtle, and a snake. photo-2He continues to enjoy “swim lessons” and loves being in the water. Each week the kids get a “take home” reward and this week it was a medal that he and Graham are sporting here. IMG_20150718_112616649_HDROur little guy is a really great eater and regularly wants to try whatever we are eating. This is a sampling of his breakfast lately, and he eats all of it, sometimes 5 sausage links amongst fruit and eggs and other things! He is definitely growing bigger.IMG_20150719_090927670

DSC_0040It’s all about flowers, fun, and projects here these days – for Kevin and Finn that is. This week Finn had lots of fun getting out of the house and enjoying a couple of trips with Debbie and Sam. They headed to the park a couple of times and then made their first trip to the zoo. Finn is really in to touching plants and smelling the flowers 🙂 And Debbie treated them to Rita’s frozen custard at the end of the warm afternoon. These boys are spoiled!photo (9)-2 photo (7)-2 photo (6)-2 photo (5)-2 photo (3)-2 photo (4)-2 똺? photo (8)-2On the home front Kevin has begun the first part of our kitchen project, which includes adding a walk in pantry and a storage closet. He is building these in the large “useless” room in the front of the house, which is eventually going to become our dining room. Many thanks to Brett for coming up and helping with everything. Here are some initial pictures, it will be a work in progress, and we are excited to get things started. Though I guess this means we will be living in a messy space for awhile as it will get worse before it gets better, but it will all be better in the end, no? They’ve also torn apart the basement ceiling as a part of moving some plumbing and other parts in the kitchen area overhead.  Never a dull moment around here!DSC_0013 DSC_0011 DSC_0060 DSC_0041 DSC_0045

Finn has really taken to the bright orange level. He pretty much takes it everywhere and doesn’t like it when you take it away. He is really in to letting you know his displeasure these days, something I’m not all that fond of, but am learning to deal with. I was home early enough on Friday that it was still slightly light outside. Finn and I enjoyed a walk along the front garden where he really enjoyed pulling the irrigation marking flags out and carrying them around more than anything else!DSC_0021 DSC_0039 DSC_0038 DSC_0057 DSC_0022 DSC_0029

Mother’s Day I was greeted by Kevin and Finn with a nice hot cup of coffee. We headed downstairs for a pancake breakfast, which Finn enjoyed watching daddy make, and a lovely orchid and card with Finn’s handprint. So cute!  And Debbie had a mug painting project with Finn this week too, and it was a total surprise to me – it was adorable!DSC_0053 DSC_0050 DSC_0065 DSC_0066 DSC_0068

Have a great week!IMG_20140510_155418719-2 IMG_20140510_155658693-2 IMG_20140510_185304638-2 IMG_20140510_185742659-2 IMG_20140510_185746697-2

DSC_1047It was finally a bit warmer this week and I got home at a good hour a couple of nights! Wednesday we went out for pizza and then played at the indoor play space. Finn went down the big slide with daddy and then later on his own. He thought it was pretty cool! The next night we headed for a walk in the neighborhood – here Finn is enjoying his first ride in his Radio Flyer wagon 🙂 Luckily I got home just before dark set in on Thursday so we were able to enjoy the outdoors for a brief ride. Finn was so happy! If we stopped the wagon he would start jiggling, as if he was telling us to keep moving! It was fun to venture outside of these four walls.IMG_20140409_202328963 IMG_20140409_202129716DSC_1031 DSC_1032 DSC_1035 DSC_1041 DSC_1042 DSC_1043 DSC_1049 Thankfully Finn’s appetite has returned. His ear infection seems to be gone, and he has his re-check on Monday. We’ve learned to not stretch things too far and feed him to close to when he’s tired as then he loves to just slide his food all around and then off his tray onto the floor.  Ugh! DSC_1076 DSC_1065Saturday was an action packed day for us! We woke up and headed to downtown Powell for the Community Easter Egg hunt. The lawn was covered in eggs and the areas were broken up into age groups.  It was fun to watch Finn and the other young kids pickup eggs. Finn was pretty interested in eating the plastic egg once he picked it up! After the egg hunt we went to our local Powell branch of the Delaware County Library.  I can’t remember the last time i was in a library, and this one is literally less than 5 minutes from our house! So we signed up for a library card and checked out our first book “Tickle”. It was a nice morning so we walked to the park, adjacent to the library, and played for a few minutes before heading home to nap!DSC_1106 DSC_1110 DSC_1117 DSC_1121 DSC_1128 DSC_1148 DSC_1151 DSC_1155 DSC_1156 DSC_1157 DSC_1160 DSC_1165 DSC_1170 DSC_1171 DSC_1173 DSC_1175 DSC_1179 DSC_1184 DSC_1191 DSC_1194 DSC_1222 DSC_1228 DSC_1239 DSC_1244 DSC_1248 DSC_1250 DSC_1256 DSC_1265 DSC_1266 DSC_1273 DSC_1281After nap time – it was party time for cousin Greta’s first birthday! We spent a nice afternoon enjoying lots of yummy food, cake, and a house full of kiddos. Finn was so tired at one point I tried to put him down in Greta’s room, which didn’t go over very well, so I moved him to the boys’ room which is much darker.  He was still pretty upset (I think because he wasn’t familiar with his surroundings and he was overtired) so Kevin went up to settle him down and the boys ended up taking a little siesta together for a little bit. Ha! It was a good powernap for both 🙂  Finn enjoyed playing with his cousins and going up the stairs many times. Happy birthday, Greta!IMG_20140412_142633613DSC_1307 DSC_1316 DSC_1343 DSC_1301 DSC_1289 DSC_1290 DSC_1284 DSC_1319 DSC_1321 DSC_1331 DSC_1294 DSC_1350 DSC_1351 DSC_1352
