DSC_0210-2Throw back to St. Patrick’s Day Parade and other shenanigans as I’m still playing catch up on our blog posts! Check out this handsome fella and his spirited St. Patty’s Day gear.

Finn loves to send Daddy off to work (“Downtown, Big City”) and this particular morning he was wearing Kevin’s bag and walking around the kitchen 🙂IMG_4598This week was my big birthday, my 40th, so I decided to take the day off work. I received a lovely flower arrangement from Mom and Dad, and also a colorful bouquet of roses from Jaime, Aaron, Lexi and Chase. My birthday was on a Wednesday, so I was able to take Griffin to school and pick him up.  We had a fun day together, going to Target, the BMV to renew my plates, and of course a stop at Graeter’s for my free birthday treat (a delicious sundae!). Later that night Kevin and I went out to dinner at Cap City Diner, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner and huge piece of chocolate cake.  They have the most delicious vegetable plate and I devoured it 🙂  When we got back home I opened the lovely gifts from Finn and Kevin.  Finn went shopping with daddy to get blush for me, and Kevin had life-size canvases of Hailey and Cameron printed for me!  They are super cool and we plan to put them in our Laundry room. IMG_4609 IMG_4612 IMG_4616 (Finn took this one of his leg, lol!)IMG_4618 IMG_4622 IMG_4629(1) IMG_4626 IMG_4632 IMG_4635 IMG_4646 IMG_4650 IMG_4656 IMG_4657 IMG_4658 IMG_4662 IMG_4624 IMG_4606 IMG_4663In preparation for Finn’s birthday we got a pre-reading on how tall his is.  He loves to measure himself (height and his feet – the special “tool” we use to see how tall he is). IMG_4675 IMG_4678This year we went to the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It was our first time going and it was a lot of fun! The weather was warm and sunny. And we got to see Cam and Cyd play in the Dublin Jerome Marching Band too!DSC_0189-2 IMG_4681 DSC_0193-2 IMG_4685 IMG_4696 IMG_4697 IMG_4709 DSC_0181-2 DSC_0183-2 DSC_0186-2 DSC_0197-2 DSC_0198-2 DSC_0216-2 DSC_0200-2 DSC_0201-2 DSC_0206-2 DSC_0209-2 DSC_0210-2 DSC_0219-2 DSC_0211-2 DSC_0220-2 DSC_0222-2 DSC_0224-2 DSC_0226-2 IMG_4700 IMG_4705 DSC_0204-2 IMG_4706 DSC_0229-2 DSC_0235-2I’m very grateful for my friend, Sarah, who insisted a celebration was in order for my 40th birthday. In all honesty I really didn’t care much about my birthday and certainly didn’t feel like celebrating.  But as Sarah always does, she told me like it was and insisted it is time to turn a new leaf and celebrate. So she gave me the option of a dinner party at her house or a spa day with girlfriends. Whatever I chose, she would take care of all the planning.  Kevin really wanted to have a party for me too, and I thought it would be nice to see all kinds of family and friends so Sarah graciously planned a dinner party at her house.  It was a really enjoyable night, complete with the most delicious food based upon several of my favorite things (avacados, chicken salad, steak, salads, desserts, and such).  It was a huge spread of food!  And Kevin made sure I had a Bunny Cake!  I’m really grateful to be surrounded by loving friends and family! Believe it or not, we didn’t take a single people-picture the entire night.  What?? Only pictures of food…crazy, but here it is!IMG_4712 IMG_4722 IMG_4714 IMG_4720 IMG_4719 IMG_4717 IMG_4718 IMG_4724We ended the week with dinner with the Howards and Ackerman families. It was a Sunday evening and we basically had the place to ourselves!IMG_4728 IMG_4732 IMG_4736 IMG_4742In other adventures this week, Finn made some yummy shamrock sugar cookies with Debbie (that we took to the parade!), went to the zoo, and the music park!IMG_4665 IMG_4589 IMG_4588 IMG_4590

DSC_0347Well, having returned from vacation we’ve been trying to get back into our regular routine at home. We’ve had a pretty uneventful week up until the weekend which was full of adventure and fun! First up, as you can see above, a trip up to Mansfield where Kevin helped dad go pick up a 1953 MG TD that he is going to restore – his next hobby! They made the trip to the Akron area Friday evening and returned just before dusk where we were able to take a quick peak before they covered it up for the night. Finn loved checking it out and dad is pretty stoked to begin this new project!DSC_0333 DSC_0336 DSC_0337 DSC_0338 DSC_0342 DSC_0344 DSC_0347 DSC_0348 DSC_0354 DSC_0355 DSC_0350

Then it was Leaning Tower pizza and sub for dinner!IMG_20150821_210049754

Here are some photos in the daylight on Saturday morning before they headed off to drop the car off at the shop that will be helping dad with the restoration. DSC_0357 DSC_0358 DSC_0362 DSC_0365 DSC_0367 DSC_0369

I look forward to seeing these two tool around town in this car once it’s all up and running!DSC_0371 DSC_0376 DSC_0379

ROAR!!!!DSC_0382

And on Saturday we all headed back to Columbus to celebrate cousin Rowan’s 4th birthday part at the Fire Station #93 in Dublin.  The part was complete with a tour of the entire fire station, the kids were able to sit in the medic ambulance, the fire trucks, spray water out of the fire hose, and as a special treat Rowan, Greta, Graham, and Griffin were able to ride around the parking lot in the actual fire truck! What a fun party!DSC_0387 DSC_0394 DSC_0395 DSC_0398 DSC_0402 DSC_0408 DSC_0412 DSC_0414 DSC_0418 DSC_0421 DSC_0423 DSC_0426 IMG_20150822_165839821 DSC_0429 DSC_0431 DSC_0435 DSC_0437 DSC_0439 DSC_0447 IMG_20150822_174556553 IMG_20150822_174630923 IMG_20150822_174741215 IMG_20150822_174959395 IMG_20150822_175342448 DSC_0451 DSC_0453 DSC_0454 DSC_0455 DSC_0458cousins

photo(3)This little man is talking up a storm! Each night when we’ve gotten home from work this week Finn is the biggest chatter box. He is talking in such long sentences. Most of it is understandable and the way in which he applies concepts and phrases continues to amaze us.  This weeks favorite was while we were driving in the car and Finn pulled a straw out of his water cup. He happened to flick some water on Kevin’s face and he followed that up with “sorry dada, didn’t mean to, accident, no big deal”.  We both giggled 🙂

It’s been mostly work for Kevin and I this week so we’ve hung around the homestead in the evenings. Finn, however, has had an adventuresome week with Debbie heading to the pet store, Franklin Park Conservatory, the Zoo, and the bookstore! We’re so fortunate to have Debbie in our family. She’s full of adventure and fun and every week she plans such fun things to do! Here are a few photos (including easter egg’s from last week that I forgot!). photo photo(6) photo(2) photo(1) photo(5) photo(4) Our fun this weekend was cousin Greta’s 2nd birthday party! It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the birthday girl had a good time, as did Finn playing with all the kiddos and grandma and grandpa. They each made a rain stick (to go with the rainbow theme) to take home. DSC_0317 DSC_0320 DSC_0324 DSC_0325 DSC_0331 DSC_0332 DSC_0336 DSC_0341 DSC_0342 DSC_0343 DSC_0346 DSC_0356 DSC_0348 DSC_0350We also enjoyed a nice dinner with the Howards this week. Amid their kitchen being torn apart they made dinner for us – what great friends! They have loaned Finn two life sized books that come with animals to play with. It was a late night, I think Finn went to bed about 10 pm, but when we got home all he wanted to do was play with the animals!IMG_20150408_222116096 For the first time I saw a complete double rainbow this week at work! It was SO pretty, these pictures don’t nearly capture it!IMG_20150409_195725974 IMG_20150409_195657342_HDRAnd our veggies are doing great.  Finn likes to look at them with me each night and help water. We practice the names of the veggies too – he’s really good at saying zucchini!DSC_0359 DSC_0360 DSC_0361
