DSC_0191Happy Easter! We have had a fun weekend with a trip on Saturday to Grandma and Grandpa Beilstein’s house where we had an afternoon full of many activities. We began by making chocolate nests with jelly beans and chicks. Next up was an Easter Egg Hunt with plastic eggs and confetti eggs. The kiddos really thought it was pretty funny to smash the confetti eggs on each other 🙂  And after a yummy dinner we colored some easter eggs. Finn was super tired but didn’t want to take a nap while we were visiting. Sure enough, we hadn’t even been in the car 5 minutes on our way back to Columbus before he was out like a light, and he never falls asleep in the car!IMG_20150404_144627899_HDR-2 DSC_0006 DSC_0012 DSC_0013 DSC_0016 DSC_0027 DSC_0030 DSC_0032 DSC_0045 DSC_0048 DSC_0049 DSC_0050 DSC_0054 DSC_0063 DSC_0066 DSC_0067 DSC_0070 DSC_0074 DSC_0082 DSC_0085 DSC_0089 DSC_0092 DSC_0095 DSC_0098 DSC_0103 DSC_0105 DSC_0110 DSC_0122 DSC_0128 DSC_0130 DSC_0131 DSC_0135 IMG958327 DSC_0138 DSC_0156 DSC_0160 DSC_0162 DSC_0171 DSC_0175 DSC_0179 DSC_0185 DSC_0188Easter morning we woke up early and headed to the 9 am service at our church. We had a nice continental breakfast between services and then served in the nursery for the second service.  Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong visited for the afternoon at our house where we had another fun-filled afternoon. Finn enjoyed playing (and building) his new soccer goal from Grandma and Grandpa before we headed outdoors for an Easter Egg hunt on a sunny afternoon. Lily and Cameron even ventured out and about to participate! Finn wasn’t interested in napping so we had a fairly early dinner and then it was an early night night time for him tonight. We’ve had a fun-filled family weekend celebrating the Resurrection of Christ! He is Risen!DSC_0221 DSC_0227 DSC_0232

Here they are at 1-week. Everything has germinated really well and we’ve taken off the covers already! Finn likes sitting on the counter and checking them out each day. DSC_0204 DSC_0206 DSC_0210 DSC_0211 DSC_0212 DSC_0213And here is an energetic Super Finn!

DSC_0152It has been a really cold weekend here! We’re hoping it’s the last of the wintry weather! Even in the cold weather (around 20 degrees) we ventured on a walk from a Claire & Eric’s house up to downtown Powell for the Saturday morning Easter Egg hunt. It is divided by age groups though this year they were all pretty sparse with kiddos given the weather. The eggs, however, were quite plentiful! When the horn sounded to begin the hunt Finn took off in a sprint, passing tons of eggs! He was really excited to go run 🙂 But he soon began to fill his froggy basket and had quite the take home of candies.  We walked to the Mean Bean to warm up with muffins and coffee and then made a pit stop at the Beehive Bread Company before walking back to Claire & Eric’s for a bit of play time. DSC_0074 DSC_0077 DSC_0078 DSC_0080 DSC_0082 DSC_0087 DSC_0066 DSC_0063 DSC_0073 DSC_0070 DSC_0092 DSC_0094 DSC_0099 DSC_0106I’ve been thinking lately about getting seeds started for our summer garden so after our Easter Egg fun we decided to head to the store to go shopping for some supplies. Finn loves planting the seeds and playing in the dirt. And before we got started he really enjoyed “building towers” with the soil pods.  Mind you many of the plants we started don’t require growing indoors and will likely do better directly sown in the garden outside. But we’re doing it all for the fun of growing things!IMG_20150328_120618452 DSC_0108 DSC_0114 DSC_0118 DSC_0121 IMG_20150328_153230993_HDR DSC_0126 DSC_0130 DSC_0132 DSC_0133 DSC_0135 DSC_0140 IMG_20150328_155554143 DSC_0148 DSC_0152

And here is our finished product: Beans, Beets, Kaleidoscope Carrots (many colors!), Cucumber, Baby Carrots, Butternut Squash, Zucchini, and Tomatoes.

DSC_0156 DSC_0157 DSC_0160After a good nap, we woke Finn up to head to the Columbus Crew SC game. It was a 7:30 game on a super cold night, but we bundled up, took an awesome seat warmer (it was so warm!!), a couple of blankets, and headed out! Finn did really well and had fun watching the game, eyeing spiderman (that he swore was across the field in a “box” where people enter the stadium), a helicopter, streamers, and the moon! From time to time he would say “no night night”. I think that because it was dark outside and he could see the moon we were going to put him to bed soon.  It was pretty cute. And when we got home he and daddy (and Lily too) played a quick game of dribble in the kitchen. crew game 3 28-2 DSC_0162 DSC_0167 DSC_0169Cammie has had a tough week of digestive problems – both bowels and vomiting. She is on a round of antibiotics that I’m hoping will help her. The first day or so she didn’t seem very spunky, but every day since she’s seemed ok. Though each morning she has gotten sick at some point during the night 🙁  This aging thing really isn’t fun – poor girl!

DSC_0739We started the week by heading to Menard’s on a sunny Sunday. It was the first time Finn got out of his stroller and walked through a store, as opposed to being carried! He was quite proud of himself, gauging by the huge smile on his face, and loved pushing the stroller about. And he expended quite a bit of energy!

The weather is finally beginning to get a little bit warmer and my work is slowly picking up the pace, but I was able to get home one night early enough that we went out to eat together at Liberty Tavern. There was live music which we all enjoyed, but Finn especially, as he bounced around in his high chair.  DSC_0596 DSC_0594 DSC_0590

Finn is growing by leaps and bounds and continues to babble and say new words all the time. He says things like more, uh oh, down, duck, daddy, dada, momma, doggie, dog dog, and nana (for banana) as a start. He’s very good at mimicking sounds and words and mocking noises.  And when he spies you smiling at his cuteness, he often scrunches his nose and does his snorting trick – kinda like, yeah, I’m cute! We absolutely love having Debbie and Sammy come each day. Debbie has been teaching Finn things like shaking his head yes and no, where is your belly, hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc. He has the shaking his head no and pointing to his belly and hair mastered already :0). She often has a theme for the week, which is so fun to come home to art projects of painting, coloring, and so on. This week they made easter eggs and painted with their feet!

IMG_20140402_220547419photo-2 photo (1)-2This weekend was a busy one, as I’ve begun working at Millcreek on the weekend and Kevin helped his brother Brett, and Missy, move into their new house! What fun (and a lot of work!). He had a good time and while he was away, Finn and I went to our friend Audrey’s 4th birthday party. It was loads of fun on a nice and sunny afternoon that we spent outside, and with his cuzzies to boot! Andy and I took the role of paparazzi and snapped lots of photos. Finn enjoyed chocolate cake and came home exhausted!IMG_20140405_161458232 IMG_20140405_161614722 IMG_20140405_161557217 IMG_20140405_161058626 IMG_20140405_161655522 IMG_20140405_161657822 IMG_20140405_161707228 IMG_20140405_155830204 IMG_20140405_160431961 IMG_20140405_160441318 IMG_20140405_171449406Kevin ended up spending the night in Enon, so Finn and I had a mommy and son weekend. We enjoyed some cuddles, Sesame Street, and play time with the “doggies!”.DSC_0743 DSC_0742 DSC_0736 DSC_0733 DSC_0729 DSC_0727 DSC_0726 DSC_0725 DSC_0699 DSC_0697 DSC_0693 DSC_0691 DSC_0681 DSC_0672 DSC_0668 DSC_0663 DSC_0659

I’m excited that we are planning a fruit and veggie garden this year! We plan on planting a raised bed in the backyard, so while at Menard’s we bought some seeds and starter soil and on Wednesday night (4/2) we planted our seeds! We have started watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, butternut squash, peppers and in our window greenhouse we’ve planted chives, cilantro, and basil.  Yummers! As of today, Sunday 4/6 they have all begun to germinate!IMG_20140402_214331644 IMG_20140331_212540096 DSC_0751 DSC_0755 DSC_0757 DSC_0761
